Is it under low power?; like when I am driving through my neighborhood, at near or slightly above idle (10mph to 20mph under very low throttle) I hear it like a disengage sound, like the clutch is doing whatever it does, but if I step on it just a little, the sound goes away.

It is probably the bearing at the front of the supercharger clutch pulley. It is untrue that you need to replace your entire supercharger. You can pull the pulley off and pull the bearing out and grease it to reduce the noise. Go to a bearing supplier if you can and show it to them and see if they have a replacement.

I just had this done. The clutch can be replaced by itself. If it's the clutch, it will make noise when the supercharger is disengaged. (Low rpms.) I heard this is a common issue. I got mine done under an extended warranty, but it would have cost about $900. ouch!

Any further info on this issue? I have 2002 C32 with the same noise, Mercedes said that I need to replace with a kit that cost around $900. Any info on just replacing bearing?

i believe you are correct its just the bearing that needs to be replaced. i think you can get a ngk one for $99. Just do a search for supercharger bearing.

new one will cost you $649.99. Dyno gains have shown: +21rwhp/27rwtq Peak ~ +25.6rwhp/30.4rwtq Curve
As far as diminish fuel economy, no it wont diminish it. But the new power might be addicting, so YOU might diminish it!

no more whirling sound
I am not convinced that the sound comes from the bearing. I seems to be coming from the clutch itself, as expressed by splinter in this thread:

i just replaced the pulley (the one below the small grooved pilley to the left of the S/C. I finally nailed down where the whirling sound was coming from. I noticed this after I installed the C3 pulley a few months ago and I thought it was the guide pulley (grooved pulley) so I replaced that. And still, that whirling sound was present. After today's fix, all is quite at the front. That pulley was almost wack when I inspected it. Bearings were pretty shot.
I did notice a very slight almost unnoticable wobble with the crank pulley.
I'll have to keep an eye on that.
okay, as you were
