Curb Damaged Rim Need Help

Hello, I have hit the edge of my back rim twice now and I was wondering have any of you guys ever had you rims refinished and is so how did it come out. Also anybody know were I can get a new oem rim for a good price trying to decide which way to go. Thanks in advance for any help.

where abouts are u loc??? its about $200 Cad to get the rim refinished, how ever its not as good as new, u can tell them apart, the refinished one will not be as smooth, but it will be very close, u have to look really close at the wheels to tell the difference, however a new rim will run u some where like 500-800 mark.

Thanks for the responce I am in New York and if you can tell the difference I guess I will go with a new rim. Do you know where I can get one for a good price? Thanks in advance.

Do yourself a favor and just replace the wheel with a new one.

Yeah that is what I am going to do but do you or anybody else know where I can get one other then the dealer.

if it's a muli-piece you can get the lip chromed, or get the entire wheel chromed, then sell it, you'll get more, but more headache too.

I guess it depends where you get the wheel repaired because I had the lips refinished on my c55 wheels and they came out perfect.

So how can I find a place that repairs curbed lips? A car broke down in a drive through, and I had to reverse out and lightly curbed a front wheel. I just replaced it. It would be nice to repair the lip and turn it into a spare.

I also had one of my rims refinished. Did it at the dealer body shop at the same time I had the windshield replaced (got hit by a flying rock).

I can't tell the difference between the original and repaired wheels. Maybe if I got down with a magnifying glass I could see something.

It was last year some time - so I can't recall the exact price - But I believe it was in the $200 range.
