Aftermarket Warranty Info - Links/#'s

In a few recent threads unrelated to warranty info people were trying to find a link or contact for Mercury. Apparently as of 1 Feb some companies were no longer covering the boosted V6s. Not sure if this info is still accurate, but I was in the process of cleaning my inbox at work and came across this email.

Dear Mr. Smart,

Thank you for speaking with me about our company and products. I’ve attached a sample of the American Mercury Insurance Company (Member Company of the Mercury Insurance Group) Platinum Plan for your review.

Please take a look at Mercury Insurance Group at www.mercuryinsurance.com . I think you will find that this group of insurers is very experienced in the P&C market and will be an excellent underwriter for you.

Please visit the Better Business Bureau at www.bbb.org in the top left hand side choose "Check it Out", and select "Business". This will take you to the BBB’s Business Search. Please look at our BBB for The Auto Club in Austin, Texas.

Lastly, if you have a chance to visit this hyper link to AM Best Company http://www.ambest.com/ you can look at the financial strength rating of our insurer as well as the RRG's (warranty companies) you’re also looking into. Remember that you should look for the insurance obligor in the sample contract that the warranty company sends you. You will never see a re-insurer offering an obligation to you, the contract holder. The re-insurer protects the RRG's reserve account.

If you have any questions please give me a call.

Best Regards,

James Lee

What does the silver cover? $1,800 seems great if you ask me. One repair on pretty much anything and it's paid for itself. I paid considerably more for the Platinum with 0 deductable.

no you're wrong. it covers pretty much everything expensive. my question is this:

the warranty is great and all but does it only take effect when something detrimental happens? in other words, say your engine is knocking and everyone can hear it. i take it to mercedes benz and the estimate alone costs 600 something bucks just to check and diagnose. does mercury cover that diagnostic fee as well? or must that be paid out of pocket and mercury only covers the actual repair.

Now that is a great question and something I need to know the answer too. I have a huge claim I am getting ready to file through them. I suppose I should call and verify first!

When you call, ask them if you can still buy a warranty for the C32. I asked and they said no.

I haven't forgotten about ya Jerry. Been trying to reach their member services the last 2 days and can't get through to an actual person. After sitting on hold for several minutes each time I just hang up as something always comes up. I will let you know when I know.

I use a company used by MB of Westmont IL called Easycare and they don't cover diagnostics, bearings, ac coolant stuff(to what extent i don't know) I had a decent amount of warranty work done on my C32 and all including a valve gasket was done except a lower coolant hose that was worn. Look at my warranty thread to see what has been replaced.

I finally got through to someone. They will NOT write any new policies for C32s. We aren't the only ones to get black listed. I guess there are a few CLKs (certain years) that are no longer covered as well. When asked why, they said it was simple - loss of money from these policies. They paid out nearly 2 to 1 and were losing a lot of money.

Good news is they do cover diagnostic charges. When I dropped off the car at the MB dealership some chick tried telling me they wouldn't cover it and be prepared to pay them.

I also have easycare for my E55.

I have cpo until next year or 100k

or

Easy care up to 60k or 2010.

The original owner paid $1600 for it, but did not choose the coverage wisely. Since the warranty ends at 60k. I wished he would of taken 100k.

Now I need to call back Easycare and buy additional warranty before this one expires or buy another one that covers the car up to 100k.

Here in Cali.... 60k is about 2 years worth of driving.

Last month I purchased the gold policy. 55,000 on my 2002 c32 and paid 2,200 for 0 deductible and 100,000 miles. Autowarrantybroker.com/Mercury insurance. When did they decide to not cover AMG? I just put the figures in on line, and got the same quote for my c32.

I personally don't trust any aftermarket warranties.. They seem to always try and find reasons to not cover things. Just my $0.02.

I have received this message every time I've tried, including 90 seconds ago. I have even tried to change the state, just to see if California was being boycotted. Nope.

The reason I selected autowarrantybroker.com is because the shop foreman, a friend of mine, went through his records and found that they had the least problem with them paying claims. This is a MB dealer in Florida.
