18x8.5 in the front....

Guys,

Do you know what offset would work for the C55 front if I wanted run a 18x8.5 ? I wanted to go with a non-staggered tire setup....

Thanks in advance!

John

if it's like the c32 then et 34 at 8.5 wide. you can go lower in et and narrower in tire but around et 25 it will be sticking out too much. a set of c55 rears should work fine in front.

if you find a 255 that's under 10" wide at max width then it may work. look at toyo t1s or falken betas they are narrwo for size i think. otherwise best to stick with 245.

I have 245s all around on OEM rear wheels. They are right out to the fender lip, so any wider would protrude. If you are lowered, you will also increase your odds of interference.

i was able to fit my dot r compound yoke A048 in 255/40-17 in the front. Like fifth O said it did stick out a bit. i did drive a few feet but the was a bit of contact belly of tire to strut. the tire is specd 10.3 " wide. a toyo 255/35-18 t1R is 10.1. the falken fk452 is also 10.1. the falken z512 is 9.9"
like i said a t1r may work.

the 245/40-17 a048s i use in front are 9.8" wide and no probs on renntech springs even on race track.

a quick look at tire rack shows the conti contact 2 at 10" wide. the bridgestone r050 is 10.4" the PS2 is 10.2".

i test mount tires/rims quite often, both tire rack and discount tire direct work with me and accept returns no probs.

if you do end up test fitting the toyos or similar pl post results, photos.

Wow I did not know that you can fit 255 at the front as well
I have a set of semislick from my other car with 4x RE55s 255/45/17 on 9.5" with 35 offset.

Do you know if they will fit the c32 with stock suspension? Will there be any rubbing?

If they fit I will definitely take this car on the track and see what it can do

tire construction and compunding will have more to do with turn in response than size.

you could have stiff sidewalls, car will respond immediately to turn in, but if the rubber compound is less tha sticky then you may lose traction early (start pushing out). on the other hand you could have a more comfortable tire (flexible sidewalls) with good rubber compound then turn in will be less than crisp but you would have better grip............good examples of the above would be the late bridgestone s03- stiff sidewalls - good turn in, ok grip. PS2s- softer sidewalls, less crisp but good ulitmate grip.

i treasure turn in response more than anything; wanted bridestone s03s when i bought 19" rims but they were never made in the sizes needed. the s03s were amazing on my 4000+ lb mitsubishi 3000 vr4 spyder.

9krpm hey i'm saying it MAY be possible. ie. worth getting a tire and swopping it onto a rear rim and then trying it the front.

so i guess you have or had a s2000?

Yes I've a s2000. The track tyres on the s2k is probably a better ratio for the c32; F235/R265, but the offset is very big on these rims F55+ and R61+. I will try them on the c32 with longer wheels bolts and spacers when I have time.

are u saying you will try the s2000 rims on the c32? won't work. 112x5 vs 114.3 x 5.

the tires should tho, if mounted on the right wheels. i assume these are 17 or 18"?

i owned a suzuka blue 2003 for 1 yr. sold it when i bought the ferrari f355. wouldn't mind a 1st gen with a comptech supercharger.

now i want a B16b to drop into my mini. the b16b is another 9000 rpm honda wonder mill. prob have to wait 2 yrs to execute.

The mini will fly with the b16b
