C32 Supercharger Pulley

Anyone get the smaller (or larger) pulley on their C32 without going all the way into the Stage One upgrade from EvoSport? $2400 seems like a considerable amount of money, wondering if it is cheaper just to do the pulley rather than the ECU software upgrade.

I'm pretty sure you need the ECU tuned if you are running a pulley. Something about the stock ECU freaking out because of the added boost and then the system cuts back the power, retards the timing, etc. I wouldn't think it would be worth it without having the ECU tuned to match. If anything, just go with an ECU and skip the pulley if you are looking to save money. Just a thought.

You don't need the ECU software to get a pulley. All manufacturers sell just the pulley.

Yes, you can purchase just the pulley but the stock ECU won't know what's going on and as a result you won't get near the performance increase, if any. That is what I have been told by all reputable tuners at least.

I think you'll get more of a performance gain from just a pulley than from just an ECU tune, but I haven't seen proof. I doubt that the factory tuning from MB is so poor that you'll see a huge gain just from retuning the stock configuration. The pulley adds more boost, and you're still in an efficient range. The MB ECUs are pretty good at compensating on their own. People with C55s can add a Kleeman supercharger and see huge power gains without ever returning the ECU. I think that the big ECU tuning gains are possible once the car has some significant modifications.

You can get the ASP pulley for $850-900.

1 question: whats the difference between the Dampened and the Regulag pulley from Evosport?
why does the Dampened one make 2x the power?
