Removing rear cats. DIY job???

Removing rear cats. DIY job???
Hi pple. I am planning to remove my rear cats.

Is this a DIY job with a jack + stand in the garage or will I need welding tool as well. If it needs welding and test pipes I will book it into an exhaust shop.

You need a welder. Are you doing this just for tone? I gained 0hp by removing them.

haha what's pollution? I eat healthy diet and produce less methane than the norm


I just ordered a set of asp pullies and air filters. Does removing the rear cat complement the pullies for power gain? I don't care too much about exhaust note, I actually prefer a quiet car as this is my daily. My 2 other weekenders are noisy enough aldready

No, removing the rear cats add zero hp or tq. It makes the car significantly louder and adds a little raspyness under certain conditions. The car isn't LOUD, but still significantly louder than the car with just the resonator removed.
