What modifications/additions can I do?

I have looked at some of the pics of C32 that people have here, and they look amazing. So far I have not done any modifications to my car, which came without navigation/phone.

Could you tell me what modifications I can do to my car, I would really like to be able to do as much as I can, but some suggestions on cheap and easy mods will be helpful.

Unfortunately, I live in Toronto and most of the mods parts I need to get from US. They are too expensive here, like K and N filters were CAD 87 for each and in US they were USD 37.00 each.

Thanks guys

its a mercedes, so not sure how to define cheap

cheapest performance mods:
sprintbooster.....resonator delete (not sure if its really a performance mod. maybe more for sound)....SL55 intake....

a bit more expensive performance mods:
pulley kit....ecu/powerchip....

cheap aesthetic mods:
different grille, clear side markers, window tint (if you dont have one), trunk lip/spoiler, different fog/headlamps, different tail lights (e.g. S, CL, tinted)

that should be good for starters i think

+1 for the sprint booster, it's a MUST...
It makes the car much more fun to drive...

We have a variety of options for your car from suspension to ECU tuning to exhaust upgrades. That's in addition to our full lineup of wheels, exterior styling and interior accessories. Feel free to browse our W203 Section for relevant product information. You will definitely want to check out our Speed Innovation ECU tuning under Performance as well as our PSS9 Coilover suspension system.

The resonator delete is simple. Take you car to your local exhaust shop and have them cut the resonator out. Make sure they use 2.75" or 3" stainless steel pipe in place of the resonator.

Here is a before and after.

http://www.neo-velocity.com/Resonator/

The sprintbooster can be obtained from http://www.slkfans.com/

He is a member of the forums and has a great reputation. I personally bought mine from him.

Have fun modding and feel free to ask any questions you might have. Also, try searching because there is more information here and searching is your access to it.

If you're on a low budget, do the following

-Body color painted front side markers. You can either order these from evosport.com or have your local body shop paint your existing ones. They will really clean up the front end of the car. Do not get clear ones, they're ugly.

-sprintbooster. this will dramatically improve the throttle response of the car. they can be found on ebay.

-Renntech springs. They lower the car just right. Neal sells them.

-Remove the resonator in the exhaust. Like Jerry said, any muffler shop can do this. It doesn't really give you any performance gain, but it greatly improves the exhaust tone. Make sure that the shop uses stainless steel piping. You'll prob have to go to a few to find a place that has SS.

-ASP pulley. This will raise the boost on the car, and is an easy install. They're about $850-900, and it is the best first performance mod that you can do.

There is a lot more than you can do after that, but those are the "musts"

I started out with "cheap and easy" mods and inevitably you'll get the mod bug, like many of us have, and 10-15 thousand bills later...

Oh there aren't any on there at the moment? I saw some a couple months ago and just assumed they were always for sale. Sorry.

I think I was searching wrong. I just spaced it out and did a search on "sprint booster" and it actually came up with a few. I was doing a search on the whole word together, ie sprintbooster.

Not to steal the thread, but a side question on the sprint booster. I see one listed as "all" Mercedes + Crossfire, but it is listed for a manual tranny and not auto. Is ours considered a manual?

You do *not* want the manual version. You want the auto. The manual is even more aggressive, and more likely to throw your car into limp mode.

No, the resonator delete will not affect emissions. If you want HID fogs, you will need to buy an HID kit. They can be found pretty much anywhere.

SORRY TO CHANGE IT A LITTLE BUT JERRY THE CAR LOOKS AWESOME........HOWS IT RUNNING? I FINALLY GOT MY CRASH FIXED. LESS THEN 1K IN PARTS AND 500 TO PAINT AND INSTALL INCLUDING NEW DEPO HOUSINGS. AS FOR THE ORIGINAL QUESTION YOU CAN BUY PULLEYS OR TUNE ECU BY ITSELF BUT YOU WON'T GET THE FULL BENEFITS WITHOUT BOTH. NOW SOME AFTERMAKET PULLEYS ARE NOTICABLE ENUF FOR DEALER TO TERMINATE YOUR WARRANTEE IF THEY WANTED TO BE AHOLES.

Off topic, but would the "manual" sprintbooster work for my 2002 C230K Coupe w/ 6-spd manual tranny? I guess I could ask over in the forum(s) for that car...

Also, I've been looking @ an H.I.D. upgrade for my foglights (my C32 has the factory bi-xenons) - but I've noticed that these kits come in several different color temps. Does anyone know the color temp of the factory xenon bulbs?

Sprintbooster and xenon fogs sounds like a good place to start my "mod journey" after I get my malfunctioning IC pump fixed (car's still under orig. MB warranty until mid-Feb 2008)

Side note, I'm addicted to this forum - so a big "thank you" to all of you who've pioneered this stuff and been kind enough to pass on the knowledge you've gained to us "newbies" - appreciate it!
