Bose Vs. Harmon Kardon

Just a quick question, I've looked at the 2006 Brochure however I'm at a loss. I have a 2006 C55 with the Navigation.

1. Can anyone tell me how can you tell if you have Bose or HK?
2. Also anyone tell me the differences between speakers for both of them?
3. What speakers are in the car?

Thanks I've searched for hours and can't seem to find the information.

I believe MB switched over to HK since 2005.

Although I appreciate your response Kleen it really doesn't provide me any answers to my question.

So it will say HK on the grills? Is the HK only a change of speakers or does what does it exactly entail?

After having 4 W203 cars I have to disagree with you opinion. The bose was cleaner sounding, less shrill, had deeper bass response, was less prone to distortion, and had better vocal reproduction.

The HK had all the specs on paper but when it came to playing music it was a cut below the bose system.

I just dont think the HK is that great in any MB. The W211 system is ok and a W211 is pretty good until it starts to distort but none equal what is on the market from the competition.

Audi has a B&O system now and it's sick. $6300 option I think.

Isn't pretty much any system better than what Bose offers in a similar price range (not just specific to car audio)?

I don't think it ever did. In my book Bose sucks. It's all marketing that makes the general public think that Bose is high end. It is mid range at best and is always overpriced. They have a descent wave radio and their sound canceling headsets are nice, but other than that, BLECK!

maybe you should get a volvo then...if you are that picky about your sound then you should upgrade. OEM sound systems are never the greatest.

Actually I had two R's, loved them. Not sure why I'm getting attitude from this forum but it makes more sense to me to join a community of like minds. Looks like some aren't into the community spirit.

What's crazy is that I've asked questions however not many people have given knowledgable answers in all of these posts. That makes no sense.

I think if you have Bose like I do, it says Bose on the speaker grills in the rear window. At least this is true with the W210, and it was a more expensive option on the E320; the E430 and E55 had it as standard equipment.

I have seen a lot of posts on this Bose vs. Harmon Karden issue and I think 90% of the posters think HK is better. I don't know for sure if the amps, radio and CD player are also different, but it makes sense that they are.
