Forum search for 'sl55 part number' gives several results, but here's a good one:

https://mbworld.org/forums/showpost....1&postcount=29

and this:

https://mbworld.org/forums/showpost....2&postcount=18

Depending on how much detail you want.

Harry read my mind. I just bought a C32 that has this mod done - except for the hoses leading to the grill (so I'm sucking in hot air from the engine bay). I have the SL hoses (at least I think I do because the previous owner gave them to me) but they are about 3 inches too long. Is it correct that you have to cut them in the middle and remove a few inches and tape them together.

If someone could post a pic of their set-up it would be helpful

If you do that same search I did, they address all that in there somewhere. At one point someone did just the splitter and bought some pieces as Home Depot to connect the two. It's all in there somewhere.

yep, the full intake will work, but you need to modify the engine cover.

you can tuck the sl55 tubes into the c32 opening but it will look untidy. or- go get a pr of c32 tubes and carefully splice them together.

ok so what if i just buy the new engine cover too its only an extra $50? will it all work then. does the SL55 amg air box bolt right on. well i know its going to be longer but do some of the SL55 air box bolts line up with the current ones??? ???

P.S. thx again for all this help

So far these are the part # i think i need.

113-094-16-82 (Hose) Inlet1 $11.81
113-094-17-82 (Hose) Inlet2 same
113-090-06-01 (airbox1 with filter) $147.6
113-090-05-01 (airbox2 with filter) $147.6
113-010-09-67 $ 67.00 SL55 front engine cover
and

113-094-01-03 $ 44.00 Y-Connector (SL55 Intake Splitter)
113-094-23-82 $ 7.00 Hose
113-094-24-82 $ 7.00 Hose

(just for some new buys, the Y connector and the hose's can not be ordered separately u have to order it as one peace. its now available as a one peace kit.) the price is the same, for the most part.

From one white C32 to another

Harry, I'm selling a brand new set. I bought these parts at my dealer and they gave me a discount. Hold on, let me scan the invoice.

Current SL55 numbers:

1- snorkle 113-094-16-82 (list $15.73)
1- snorkle 113-094-17-82 (list $15.73)

1- filter & housing 113-090-06-01 (list $162.00)
1- filter & housing 113-090-05-01 (list $162.00)

1- Y-splitter with hoses 113-090-01-29 (list $147.15)
(offered now in one piece)

It is best just to leave off the engine cover. The SL55 cover does not fit, the C32 engine cover has the mounts in the wrong place.

The SL55 Y-splitter hoses and air filter box can be made to occupy the space, but I would say they do not really "fit". It is like stuffing a fat lady in a girdle.

The filter boxes need a little trimming. The snorkles need to be shortened to stuff in the grille and are not a clean install. The filter mounting clips are not in the right place, just remove the clips on the underside of the filter. The front of the right filter tabs need to be trimmed to clear the oil filler cap.

There are a couple of clips on the firewall that should be removed or they cut in the very tight fitting Y-splitter. The Y-splitter hose is a hair too short on the right side.

The purge line on the right may need a little bending and persuasion for filter box clearance.

The hoses are tight enough to hold the air filter boxes in place.

What if you make a conversion between both engine covers? After reviewing the pictures, the SL55 cover aligns with the filter boxes and the original cover fits perfectly on top of the SC. I'm going to buy an SL55 engine cover and give this a try.

I have all the pieces to do the conversion, but this is my only draw back.

Also guys... consider green filters for the SL55 boxes.

Does the engine cover do anything useful, like keep dirt/dust off the pulley or something?...
