so last friday Jose and I took a saw to the intake resonator and chop them off. the result is great with a nice and throaty intake suction noise. my foot tells me the throttle response better up top. 5th gear passing from 80-95 without drama.

also did the caps

I removed the intake resonators a few months ago. I agree with your assessment, they definitely give a throatier intake sound, and perhaps a little better throttle response. It definitely didn't hurt anything

you need to first remove the airbox from the car and pop open the resonator box careful not to break the tabs on either side. I broke one of them and had to ziptie the resonator box to hold it together), take the chambered inner tube out, cut and leave the ends (you'll need the ends to put the resonator box back onto the airbox.

just make sure you sand and use a higher heat resistance primer before you spray the color.

Hey Frank I noticed what appears to be a carbon fiber hood on one car is it? If so where can I get it? Also where you get the paint for the engine-cover? What grade sand-paper and what primer and color? Was it stripped down to bare or scuff the original paint only.

did you wrap your intake with foil for heat resistance for the intake temps?

robert, that's a no...lol

c32used, it is a VIS CF hood on Jose's car. you can search VIS's website for thier dealers for one. they run about 5-600.

I think it was the 150 grit to strip the original paint and 600 to somewhat smooth it out. forgot what primer, but the color is candy apple red by duplic color as mentioned in above post.

jturkel, no it's not foil. it's Thermo-tech heat insulation cloth. i was going to cover it with some stockings, but didn't get around to do that.

I went to link but when I put info into search boxes like make, model, etc and carbon hood it shows nothing. Am I doing something wrong? By the way where you get the Duplic paint at?
