[QUOTE=Fifth Ring;2380834]Here's an instructive sequence of pictures.

ONE:

TWO:

I'm just poking fun here. I was riding the guy's but on the turns, but could not gain ground on the straights. And his SRT8 was modified.[/QUOTEbou]

Dean, you b@stard! You didn't check with me about posting my car!!!

Ok, folks, here's the other side of the story. First off, it was my first time with this car on a track. As you said, you couldn't catch me in the straights! I have a mod that completely disables the ESP on the car, so I was still feeling out the turns with no traction control. Not an easy task with a 4200lb beast! If you remember, I eventually went off the track. Specifically, on that turn, I let you and the Ford GT go because you had a better line and my instructor was explaining something to me. I did compliment the hell out of your car. Love the C32. As matter of fact, I'm really close to buying a Crossfire SRT-6 which has that awesome engine. Then, we'll duel again at VIR! How are you brotha?

Why does anyone want or care about dark, jiggley video of some rolling start race? That'll never prove anything. We've seen the posted magazine test numbers. Is there anything more valid than that?

Hey, small world! I guess this thread has gone global.

As I said in BIG letters, I used the VIR pictures for fun. You can't compare cars under most circumstances, and we BOTH got our asses handed to us by the Ford GT and a few other cars that are REALLY designed for this kind of work. We're all delusional thinking our comfy seeedans are race cars.

I love the SRT8 and wish they had put that motor into something lighter. I could NOT catch you in the straights, but I was the only person (other than that Ford GT) who could hang with you enough to get the highly illusive "pass" signal! 450HP, 4,200 lb. traffic cone!

I may be back at VIR this Fall. Kids, job and boat use up all my other time.

(PS: My name's Greg. Your instructor sucked. And he's probably reading this.)
(PPS: This whole thread is moronic. Once you've been to a track, you realize how lame street racing is. And if you've been on a road course, you realize how lame drag racing is.)

If there are any C32 AMGs in the NY/NJ/CT area that would like to run my bone stock SRT-8 from a dig or a roll, please respond to this.

Otherwise, talk, speculation, and magazine racing is silly.

I'm from Canton/Cleveland area.....I've got a 300 srt8 and I'll second Marcs invitation. I'm not talking smack.....just a good 'ol boy lookin' for a good race. My car runs 13.2 (12.8 corrected) with just a cai. Marc is telling the truth at 4.5 0-60....the 6.1 got some torque!!.....and many srt's are runnin these times.....pm me....let's run!!....once again.....no smack talk here....just love cars and love to run!!!!

Hi there:

I agree with your 13.2. As this is what my brothers does as well. But that DOES NOT equal a 4.5 060 time, by a LONG SHOT. Your cars are JUST TOO heavy my friend.
I guess what I am saying is, roll over to Beaver PA, and my STOCK C32 will be happy to play. Hell, I will even by the beers, WIN, Loose or draw

See yeah

PS: My BEST 0-60 is a 4.80, and I pull about 1-1.5 car lengths on my brothers 300

Oh man is this still going on? Dudes, you can't say that if some dude is right that he's got to sell his car back to the dealer to prove it! That just ain't right. All magazine racing and excuses aside the dude's Magnum dusted the Benz that night. I'd feel pretty good and wouldn't care if anyone was running right or not. If it ain't right then don't ****** run it. If you run it then accept the results.

Is that what you call documented video proof of a stock Magnum SRT-8 doing 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and then pulling on a stage II C32 AMG?

You MB guys have to the be the biggest sore losers and haters on the net.

Can you read the WHOLE post instead of just what you like?

As I said, Win, Loose or draw, we will have fun my friend, and that I will buy the booze. I guess that makes me a hater?

Grow up Marc

I enjoy ALL cars, and yes SRT's too. I just don't like and narrow minds

See yeah

And No I will not repost as I have had enough on this issue until I meet another one, besides the two that I have already beat up on, at the track/Street and YES then I will post WHAT EVER results there are

Lets see.. you come to a MB forum and post how you beat up on a stage II C32, a very poorly performing C32 no less and talk trash.. and you wonder why you are getting hated on?

Had I lost, I would have posted that up too. I post ALL my videos up; win, lose, or draw.

Where's the proof that this is a "poorly performing" C32? There is nothing that suggests that it was running poorly. Actually on the contrary, the previous owner chimed in on this thread to say it's a healthy C32 and that there are dyno sheets for it, etc.

Will you guys ever stop with the excuses and hating?

What were you reading?! The previous owner chimed in and said something must be wrong with the car and recommended he get it looked at.

The previous owner verified all mods, yes but, he also said there was no way it would have lost like that when he had the car.

Not "hating"...just making corrections.

PS All this talk about the SRT8's had me doing a lot of reading up on them. I must say that the Jeep SRT8 has completely won me over! I was a fan of the ML AMGs but the SRT8 Jeep has it all, still looks pretty damn sexy, and for a fraction of the price. I might have one in the driveway in the very near future to replace the truck.

LOL.. no excuses here and I am definitely not hating on your magnum. FYI I don't even have a C32 anymore..

You got the fastest rectangle box they made.. Yippie!!

I mean if the goal was to get the fastest brand new POS production car under 30k I guess you scored..

Now.. how about you shut the hell up with your smart *** comments and post more vids vs other C32/C55's and would love to see vs a procede or xede 335..

I never said it had dyno sheets because I never dyno'd it. I did mention that I gave the new owner the receipts for the work performed, so it's a verifiable stage 2+ car. I wasn't there so I can't say why you won. No excuses - it was your night. I'm only maintaining that it shouldn't have went down like that. I think Tom should get my old C32 checked out and you should have a rematch, because the math doesn't add up.

Typically MB/BMW jackass. SRT-8 POS? Ok, you really know alot about cars. I can afford a MB or BMW. I bought my SRT-8 because of the value, looks and all the great reviews. Go ahead, find a bad review. Is the interior cheaper than a MB or BMW? Definitely. But, who gives a crap. Do you watch TV or sleep in your car? Interior superiority is so overrated. You drive a car because of the performance. It's the best Chrysler ever made and its a blast to drive. The handling is amazing for a 4200lb car. Better than a M5? No, but pretty damn close. But, you wouldn't know that because you are better than me because you drive a BMW. Must be compensating for something small.

Obviosly you haven't driven a M5..... .... n most of us drives MB...
Also, most of us didn't bash on SRT-8.. I'm sure it's a great car with the value. However, I just don't see how stocker can pull 4.2-4.5 0-60 mph. hell, thats almost quick as ur big daddy Viper

Neway.... Are you still gon do da damn thing tomorrow????

Uh, actually I drive a car to get from point A to point B.

And actually I spend about 2 hours a day in my car commuting, picking up kids, etc. So yeah - interior does matter. Sorry for being such a snob

Yes. I've driven a M5 many times. I was about to buy one before I got my SRT-8. My friend has one and we routinely trade and race each other. BTW, I usually have more driving time in my car since his is always in the shop! I haven't seen anyone claim those 0-60 times and I never would. But, there are many reputable car guys with many years of experience in the industry doing 12.5 - 12.9 1/4 mile on a stocker. It's amazing that people don't believe that when DCX clearly underestimated the hp numbers. Many have dyno sheets proving that. Also, MOST car magazines quote manufactures numbers which are conservative. The 2007 SRT-8's have a 0-60 timer in the dash. Many have put up pictures of the LCD showing 4.7-4.9. Those were stock cars.

I have great respect for MB's and BMW's. I routinely drool over the E55! Once my kids are out of the house, I will have an AMG. It just pisses me off at the lack of respect people show this car or any others that they haven't driven. Peace out.

Read through several pages worth of those claims (4.2-4.5) right here in this thread! Even worse are the SRT8 boards...
