As some of you may recall, I recently ran a Stage II C32 AMG on the highway and after beating it easily, was told by members of this forum that the C32 must have been broken or the driver didn't know what he was doing. I was also laughed at when I told people I was doing 0-60 MPH in 4.5 seconds according to the built in timer that comes on '07 SRT-8s. Lastly, a bunch of people started magazine racing and quoting obscure sources which put the SRT-8 nowhere near my 4.5 second 0-60 MPH times...
Well I finally had a chance to take Maggie to the local dragstrip in Englishtown, NJ. She ran a 12.802 @ 109.12 and then backed it up with a 12.9 @ 108 on the second pass. I'm pretty happy with these numbers considering the car is 100% bone stock with no modifications whatsoever. It even still has the temp tags on it.
On my 12.802 pass, the 0-60 MPH according to the car's built in EVIC was a 4.45. I think with more practice, I can cut a mid to high 1.8 60ft and run a 12.6 to 12.7 in cooler air at Atco. Not too shabby for a 4400lb naturally aspirated family wagon!!!

No options except option package #2 (air filtration, automatic headlights, etc)
Track elevation: 70ft above sea level
Outside temperature: 71°F

BTW, trap speeds don't tell the whole story when racing from a highway roll. Picture two cars that both trap at 109 in the 1/4 mile. One car has a top end of 175 while the other only goes 160. They do a pull from 80 to 150 and despite their 109 trap speeds, the one that has a 175 top end cleans the clocks of the one that goes 160. A lot can happen PAST the trap speed.

anyway, done with the thread "again"...your stock Magnum runs pretty much the same as everyone else's on dragtimes which is good for Chrysler to keep these cars consistant.

Now with that being said, DUDE, GO AWAY BACK TO CHRYSLER LAND.
No one here cares about dinosaur tech from the 60's or 6.1 liter engines
Its great to see Chrysler is going back to its roots of Bricks on wheels with HUGE engines. They have already done that in the sixties as I saidDo you realize that there ar Honda's with 2.? engines running 8' and 9's
SO what if your 6.1 liter engine can beat a stock 3.2 liter, try it against a 5.5 and see what happens

Our C32's are very heat sensitive cars. In fact, I took mine back to the dyno yesterday and ended up with a -30WHP loss due to heat. I dynoed the car less than 2 weeks ago on the same dyno, with a cooler car (sat for hours), and pulled the +30WHP higher numbers.
So, in a real world situation, he has the faster, more consistent car...period. The C32 is like an out of shape boxer..... it can hit hard but gets tired quickly and can easily be beaten over multiple runs.
I think that we should focus on a better cooling system for our car so we can make multiple back to back runs in 95° weather against these cars.
Marc - From my experience, a C32 should never sit before a race, especially when warm. The cars cooling system doesn't function when it's turned off and it will continue to heak soak. If the C32 you raced sat after it did runs with an Evo, the car will not make full power. With that said, I still think that you would have beaten him 3 out of 5 runs.
Is that your friend that had the C32? If so, could you arrange another race with the C32 cold or cooler? I would love to see real world changes as the cars warms up. I bet that the C32 would win the first 2, and then you would pull on the last 3.

^^^ I have no problem with the mag - lots of cars are faster than our C32s and I can appreciate any car and I do think our fellow C32ers who take it personally are just feeding a troll. But trolling is trolling and to come on and start another thread just to poke his head in the door just to stick out his tongue at us...well that's just annoying clutter.
I mean, I don't go on a Chrysler board and start a thread entitled "Video of me in a bone stock C32 getting more ***** than my friend with a 7th gen k-car".
FWIW I think these new Chryslers are great and obviously fast. Plus that's probably some good driving from those drag times, no disrespect there.

^^^ It's not so much the SC cutting out, it just gets slower from the hot air going in. I ran into this just doing autox - hot day of course, but still...the thing just started to dog later in the day...the SC was still working, the car was just a slug though.

I understand the concept, but I can tell you that during my 20 minute sesions, I was consistantly passing Mustangs, camaero's, BMW on the straight aways the ENTIRE time. Plus I have a data logger for the course, and my speeds reamined constant throughout the sesion as well. I ran consistant 1:10's , after I had the feel for the car.
And my straight away speeds stayed at 125 on the back and 118 on the front ALL DAY LONG.
This is why I am buying the pullies, and I REALLY quiestion this HEAT SOAK ISSUE.
If the intercooler was gradualy heating up, my straight away speeds should have gradualy decreased. But this was NOT the case.\

Marc, would you do me a big favor. Since the admins don't seem fit to actually control the board in any way, could you at least post in the appropriate forum? Is that too much to ask? No, it's not. Your blower should never cut out, unless your car is overheating or IAT's are off the chart.
When our car reaches a certain point (heat soaked), the ECU will begin to pull timing to avoid misfires and detonation. When this happens, you car can lose as much as 50WHP, if not more.
I use datalogging software / hardware and I can pinpoint when it starts to happen. For me, it is when I'm stuck in traffic on a warm to hot day.
I took my car to the dyno yesterday and it was mid 90's outside with 30% humidity. My car put down -30Whp less than normal and it didn't feel any slower than it did 10 days ago when I put down more power.
If you are doing runs from 0-110 over and over, the car will heat soak.
If you are running your car around the track, and there is enough air flowing through the system, then it might not.
The only way to prove is on the dyno or with data logging. You should pick up a CarChip (http://www.davisnet.com/drive/produc...asp?pnum=08226). Plug this guy in while your car is cold and leave it in until you are done running at the track. Send me the files and I'll show you where and when your car starts to lose power.

I saw the other thread go on and on with bench racing. It was boring and childish on most everyone's part IMHO. Your car is fast and that's great. I like all kinds of cars and can appreciate more than just one car.
