** Dropped on KW V1's **

Posting up pictures for Benzoc55... he ditched the Mayas, and put an order for some custom forged wheels... anyway, on to the pics, he had the shop lower it to the lowest setting without rubbing. it's slammed!!!

Wow, that’s low. Looks sharp...great for shows and meets. Realistically though, how much usable jounce travel does Benzoc55 have? I’d envision it riding like a lumber truck on NY/NJ roads.

BTW, you have a beautiful driveway and garage setup.

Did he order 19" wheels? If he can keep it that low without rubbing, you gotta post size/offset/tire

Looks sick though and +1 on the driveway

he said he doesnt bottom out, he doesnt rub, even with 3 people in the car. also the car had no body roll on it, when me and him were going at it around a turn (i was driving a clk500). i had to slam on my brakes to slow down, he cruised right past me.

not sure if hes running a spacer up front...

and yes, the front grill is painted

The reason he doesn't rub or bottom is that KWs come VERY firm. I had them on my A6, and even though the car was much lower than stock, it bottomed and rubbed it's chin much less than stock because there was virtually no bounce. You could lean 200 lbs on a fender and see less than 1/4 inch of bounce.

In the end, I regretted the KWs because they were too firm for daily street use in a German luxury car. But they are top quality pieces.

I bet everyone here can't wait until the new bilstein b16 ride control system is available huh? For those not familiar it's a cockpit adjustable coilover setup and is supposed to be roughly the same cost as pss9's with the different modes sort of like the tien setup.

I find that pretty hard to believe...is it slammed all the way in front?

Ling had to use spacers with his KW V2's with the stock wheels.

Every car with KW's that I've encountered in the last 2 years at Group5 (quite a few) whether it be a CLK or W203 have had to use at least a 5mm spacer especially with the 18" AMG wheels. There's a C320 on the other forum with the same exact wheels and cannot clear the perches so I'm not sure how benzoC55's wheels clear.

BenzoC55, if I were you, keep an eye out on the inside of the front wheels because you're going to be chewing up some front wheel or tires pretty soon if you are indeed running no spacers as you mentioned. Don't want to scare you or anything but it's reality especially at the height setting you're currently at.

I'm glad to see I helped contribute to shaming you into a new set of wheels! The drop looks perfect.

Hey guys, is it possible the V1's allow more room for clearance than the V2's?

EDIT: I'm in love with the driveway. I want to do something similar to mine, but am afraid to get a quote because I know it aint gonna be cheap.

Yeah, i just put my kw v2 on my c320 and had to put in 5mm spacers on my 19 x 8.5 replica mono vi's. I think i have to put in a 10mm because i had to do some adjustment and the tires were rubbing on spring and took some rubber off.
