Considering buying a C55

hey fellas im pretty new to this thing and i've learned a lot from your guy's threads to assist my sister with her 07 c230. anyways, i've found a c55 with roughly 10k miles for about 28k and hes willing to negotiate. BUT heres the downfall....the car is salvaged. however, the seller claims that a sign at the dealership fell on his car breaking his windshield, moonroof, hood dents, broken rear and front windows, scratched bumper, and im assuming he had to get a new paintjob because of this. he says that the engine itself and whatnot is fine and the car runs perfectly normal. i know that i can get a list of whats been done in terms of repairs to his car via VIN number at a local MB dealership, but i dont really know much about this sort of stuff. as always, im willing to hear your guys' opinion. what do you guys think? being salvaged, should i completely stay away from this car although he claims that his car is fine with no engine damage? if i can bargain with this, how much should i push for considering the cars status? as always, i would love to hear your guy's opinion on this.

HAHAHA i came across that ad on autotrader and considered it.
well if ur going to sell it later, (which is a bad idea) you are going to make nothing out of it. just check out the records and such and i'm sure you'll find the answer to your question.

Too many to list
I say "DON'T DO IT". Why buy a C55 with a salvaged title compared to buying a used one for almost the same price? There's alot of C55 floating around with clear title and in excellent condition in the classified section for low 30s to mid 30s.

Yes
If you plan on keeping the car forever, its not a bad idea. Otherwise, stay away...it will take you forever to sell the car and youll take a huge hit anyway.

I saw that car for sale a few months ago... keep that in mind if you try to sell. It will take a while to sell if you do buy it and decide to sell in the future.

I agree. I bought a salvage once and will never do it again.

There are just too many cars out there to take the chance.

Don't do it.

how so? what difficulties did you go through? the only damage to the car was the body work and its now fixed. i know its salvaged, but 26k for 10k miles seems pretty good. its also fully loaded. i probably wont purchase it, but i just want to leave it as an option.
