Just got my sidemarker painted

Since i was having a hard time trying to place order on evosport's website, i decided to get mine painted by body shop. I wasn't too careful when removing the left side and broke it into half, so i got a new one from stealer ($50~60 CND, forgot the correct price), and had a bodyshop sanded off the letters on both markers and painted them to 197 Obsidian Black ($100 CND. Its the cheapest out of 3 shops i asked, the most expensive one quoted me 280 plus tax!).
Before:

After:

Car is quite dirty.. bad weather in Vancouver lately.

U'r able to see a tiny bit of light when the bulbs r on, but it looks kinda dirty, so i moved the bulbs so they're pointing inside, and now there's no lights at all.
Hope i dont get pulled over by the cops for this

Edit: I'll post some more pictures with bulbs and without later tonight.

I did the same thing and yes, they look good for the price.

I just forgot to sand off the lettering on them .

Did you remove the Impact strip before you took the side markers out?

I did this with a friend before, for people that wants to do this, its best to remove the Impact strip first, then everything would be very easy.

I think C32 and C55's are a bit different, the impact strips on C55's r not removeable. Thats why the painted markers or euro bumpers r the only way for us C55's and CLKs to get rid of the orange markers, while C32's and other C's have one more option, which is the euro impact strips.
Correct me if im wrong.

Would not be cheaper to do it yourself by using tints? You could even engrave "AMG" that would glow in dark or something? I did that when I had a Mustang

Wow, that looks SO much better. I have painted markers too. Just unplug the bulbs from the marker (but leave them plugged in to the power harness), wrap them in electrical tape, then tuck them away inside. This will prevent that light from gleaming through. This also makes it less obvious.
