HELP! my belt snapped

After installing the pulley today i was enjoying my faster C32.

I installed the non-dampaned pulley kit from evosport. After driving a little bit, the night ended with my belt snapped, i wast able to drive my car home, left it at a friends parking lot.

my car has around 46,XXX miles, is this suppose to happen?

what am i suppose to do?

where can i find replacement belt? I need it ASAP.....

what am i suppose to look for? i dont know what caused it to snap, but i saw some cut or tear im not sure if its caused by the pulley...

Help please.!

Thank you all!

check the belt for glazing and cracks. chances are that the belt was worn and in need of replacement. your "spirited" driving probably just pushed it over the edge. take the MB part number off it and call a parts store and get them to cross it for you. if you cant read the number, simply take it in and they should be able to match it up for you.

That sucks man - sorry to hear.
I'm not in any way questioning your wrenching capabilities, but before you put another belt on, I would definitely inspect the installed overdrive crank pulley and underdrive accessory pulleys for A) any damage to grooves, and B) their installation - make sure they are rotating correctly with no wobble.

Was this pulley kit used? Did you get the crank pulley checked for balancing?

+1.

Dealers have the belts in stock. Go buy one, should be around $75. Reinstall it and make sure the belt is moving without any problems. Ask someone to rev the car while you look at the engine as well. Then you take your spirit for a drive.

As per Code3's R&D, you can get the Gatorback belt instead of the OE belt for a little less $$. The part number is 4081145 and it appears to be similar in size to the OE part.

As was posted by Splinter, the OE belt part number is: 112 997 00 92.

You didn't give it a chance to see what your drag times where in stock form but anyways it should make for a very fast ride see ya on May 17th...

May I recommend that you also upgrade the I/C PUMP and HEAT EXCHANGER
