Argos for 05+

Seems like Argo's iTronic (previously the STAGE-2 MOST) is out.

http://www.incartronics.com/
Its said to be fully compatible with all the buttons on the steering wheel, and phone book/ call list feature, all for $899.

Anybody tried it yet? Does it worth the price?

Is this an alternative to getting the phone feature to work on the C55?

Likewise.

So let me get this straight (this may be dumb). This feature in a nutshell, enables bluetooth for any cell phone that has bluetooth and utilizes the existing buttons on the steering wheel and stereo unit for 05 C55? Does it also show the phone dialing/incoming calls information on the hud?

Thanks.

Everything is the same as the stock phone setup you just don't have to add all the stuff in the cabin etc as the box goes in place of the control unit and has the bt built into it. I'd like to know how well it works as compared to OEM e.g. are there any issues etc?

Anyone with the older command d2b argos that can chime in?

hmm that itronic kit's pretty slick. it seems to be the same as the argos most for command but plugs into the rear of the deck-hmmm. That's different as the oem unit just uses the rear connections and harness for the armrest.

The ipod control ON the command instead of the center display is HUGE though. I'd dump my oem ipod control if it works well. Is there a way I can see and play with this in person prior to buying??? I'll contact them about trying to do a group buy and or more info regarding the ipod deal and trial.

downloading and researched install and user manuals now....

hmm it uses the same most port as the ipod install. It doesn't use the factory mic however and requires you to route your own....wonder if it has sound cancelling etc

BTW incartronics is the same company as eurocarphone the maker/distributor of argos

hmm seems this kit doesn't have some functions the factory does and also only stores 99 #'s.

They also don't have a user manual for the ipod control.

Kinda lame that they depict pics of the porsche nav for an mb manual.

The wierd deal is that it says the itronic deal can add the ipod function- OK. However, when you click below it states that the ipod function takes the place of the cd changer?

It would seem this is their prior method of implementation, with it now using he same MOST port as the ipod kit separate from the cd changer???

This is not another aftermarket solution that makes use of just the built in microphone and loudspeakers.
If I'm reading it right, it says its using the stock mic/speakers.

In the manual it does say that you have to wire the microphones, however there was a previous version for the Stage-2, I wonder if the manual is for the previous one..

spr: here are the replies i got from them in regards of the microphones and ipod kit
The iTronic uses the speakers, but not all Mercedes with M.O.S.T. fiber optics come with a mic, or even a proper noise canceling mic for that matter (contrary to popular belief) - so we do include a very good quality noise canceling mic.
The iPod addon does replace the changer, but not the in-dash single CD

We have not had any problems so far, but the unit is updateable after installation.

I recieved that email as well. Thanks for the info regarding the mic. Does anyone know for sure if the 05 c55 has the mic in there? I'll pop that cover on the console and look. Since the car is prewired etc I would assume it's there.

The guy has called me twice, yesterday and today, but I have been busy. I'll call him back later today with more specifics. He'll have to do something good on the price however as I can add the factory parts for about the same price.

BTW I think it's pretty lame that you'd have to replace the cd changer. I really don't understand why they didn't use the rear factory hookups for the phone stuff and or make a separate box for the most port in the front. I would tend to believe they did it this way because the ipod connection and changer wiring is right there. The way it's done however you could easily use the teleaid and the phone hookups as they're close together as well without running additional fiber optic cables to the ipod.

However again, knowing how the ring runs you could run the most cables differently in the front and use all rear connections-

I have the d2b in my c32 and it works perfectly. It is totally connected in the back and justs adds on as the phone device to the d2b net. No adverse affects on any of the other devices. Works with nav and steering wheel controls.
