c32 or c55

looking at both just can't decide which one I will be better off with.

do they both have the shift buttons on the steering wheels?
which one is more mod friendly as in which is easier to get more power?
and do they both come with the same brakes?

I have a 07 c230 sport now and love the car it just lacks power.

thanks
Mark

C55 has em, C32 doesn't.

Honestly if I was buying right now, I'd get a C55 just cause of the updated interior and since I love how they sound. If you want cheap modding, then the C32 is the way to go. Otherwise there really is little difference besides minor suspension tweaks.

See the following thread for a good description of the differences between a C55 and C32. There are more differences than most MB fans think there are.

C55 has prettier interior like that guy said, but not worth the pricegap between C32 in my opinion, might as well add a lil more and get an E55. C32 = best bang for the buck.

LET C32 2002
Depending what you are after...

Better overall looks and handleling the C55 wins...easier and way cheaper to modify then the C32.
I will say that a warranty rather from MB or aftermarket is something to take serious. Both are rather bullet proof when engine is concerned but electrical can play havok on them but mostly C32 according to threads. Keep in mind that alot of the styln cues on the C55 can be modded into the C32 like the dual exhaust, speedometer...etc.

Thats actually a good point, I keep forgetting how cheap E55's are now, especially with $5 gas.

I dunno if you're being sarcastic or what, but a few miles shouldn't make a difference to someone who is purchasing an AMG. It mostly depends on how you drive anyway. There are times I average 11.5mpg on my C32, and there are times its 23. Stock.

Motor itself can take a beating, but you might run into problems with cooling. Finding an AMG with warranty left on it is the way to go. Intercooler system on these cars is a b***h. 3 out of 6 times I had mine serviced (had it for 9 months now) was because of the cooling system, infact its at the dealership right now cuz I got a leak somewhere. Have my fingers crossed its not the core.

03 g35 coupe...........02 c32 Sold
i would say if your not a diy'er, do not buy any of these cars without warranty.

With that being said, most of the problems are pretty common and can be easily solved if your some what decent with tools.

if you want the best hp per dollar spent...c32 hands down. FI is always cheaper to get power out of then NA.

Once LET finishes there twin turbo kit, your going to be seeing a lot of 500whp c32's.

coming from an 04 C32, I suggest getting a c55 because it has a ton of problems. But if you only care about moddability, C32 wins because of the FI setup.

Can anyone give me some good vendors to purchase stuff?
Maybe a brake kit or exhaust? I at least need some better pads and I will need another set of wheels with some track rubber.

Anyone put belts in?
