LET Tune is Serious!
This is where most of the action is so I'll post here. Some of the guys from LET came to Columbus from Chicago and I had the opportunity to meet them and get my car custom tuned on a DYNO JET. After waiting for an E63 with juice and an E55, my SLK32 went on the roller.
Current performance mods:
LET 181mm crank pulley
Needswings CAI
LET Phenolics
My SLK32 with stock map dyno'd at 307 whp. After some mapping the LET guys pulled 320.25 whp and 317.3 Tq. This was in a 90 degree dyno booth which had a weak cooling fan to boot. This was not even as aggressive of a tune as they are capable of as I do not yet have proper cooling mods to safely support a more aggressive tune. The stock map showed the tq and hp curve rising before leveling out from 4k RPM to 6k. After the tune, the tq and whp curves were straight lines all the way across, showing full power all the way through the band.
Ofcourse once I get proper cooling mods I can send the ECU back to these dudes for a free remap so it's nice. Great work and value.. $/hp
