That is a false statement. I've got 579rwtq at 2000rpm.

Fully moded (SC vs SC)
I would think C55 will be quicker... However, C32 has more money to power ratio..

Stock vs stock, it should be very close up to 1/4 mile about 105ish, and than the c55 walks away slowly from the c32. However, for some strange reason, c32 has been tested to be faster 0-60 than the c55? Overall, I think that c55 is the better car stock vs stock and also more reliable.

It's inevitable. As more C32's and C55's change owners, the new owners will want to have the same discussion you had 3 years ago.

the car with the biggest motor will more than often end up being the winner. people get into sc and tc battles but ultimately the 55 motor sc will SPANK the 32 motor (whatever mod you want to put). there would be room to debate if the motors werent built on the same technology. 3 valve sohc twinspark v config.... who cares about money the fact remains that the C55 is the winner

game over

also, V8's seem to be the best performance option for most car sports. dtm, nascar.... i wonder why they dont use SC'ed v6's... they must be scared of the potential and leave the v6's for lemans.... lol you v6 guys crack me up

[1/4 mi @ 12.4]

Both are great cars.
If money was no object, then the 2 extra cylinders are definitely going to win in the end.... but to supercharge a NA engine is a lot bigger chore and money-siphon than to upgrade a with few bolt-ons and tune a stock SC engine.

dollars for dollar - C32 wins
money is no object - C55 wins

just my $0.02.

LET C32 2002
The OP as I understood it ask which is faster so I presume its stock vs stock so the answer best is its a drivers race. Most time slips I seen are pretty close to both the C32 and C55. Ofcourse a newer model should be faster but it don't mean by alot at all with the C32/55. Now modded is a whole other league altogether and money buys faster but also more possible issues. Lets stick to the original comment "C32 is much cheaper to modify...C55 is better looking and a little better performance overall"

approximate values: (based on ebay buy-it-now prices today)
used stock C55: $26-$35k
used stock C32: $18-$22k

Add a few fun LET components and a tune for a few grand and your C32 will be a reliable monster and STILL cost LESS than a stock C55. Add a couple of tasteful inexpensive cosmetics (CF lip, HID, etc) and you will look as good if not better than a stock C32/C55.

I understand that statement. But, first of all, the OP lists a CLK430 as his ride. Second, new to C32 or C55, they should still be able to search the forum first.

This is just more of the same old bickering. Who needs it all over again?

I've said this before, and I''ll say it again.......the C32 and C55 are similar in straight line acceleration in stock form (maybe the C55 is SLIGHTY faster).

The biggest change MB/AMG did was significantly improve the handling/steering and added the electronic pseudo LSD when they developed the C55 to make it more competitive with the E46 M3 on a track.
