Passenger Floor Wet

Has anyone ever had an issue with the carpet being wet on the passenger side front floor? I noticed this after I went through the car wash (Touch Less). I took the carpet out to vacuum and noticed on the right hand side of the floor all the way to the back (Toward Firewall) lower right corner the carpet was wet.

Any ideas?

Good question. I do not know because the carpet is black. I should have smelled it or see what the texture was. I just assumed it was water but I guess I should not of assumed. I just put my hand on the bottom of the floor mat and said that feels damp. Then took my finger and stuck it in that lower right corner and felt it was damp there also.

Thanks

i'm hoping for water, not coolant. tracking down a bad weather seal would be a lot better of a task than swapping out a heater core

If I did not have the heat on would it still leak if it was the heater core? I just thought it would be water because I had just gone through the car wash. Like I said the water was just an assumption.

If the heater has to be on to make it leak I will check the carpet make sure it is dry and then blast the heat and see if it leaks.

I've heard of the heater core doing that on many other vehicles. That could quite possibly be the issue.

I hope you get everything worked out soon.

I am going to have it checked because even if it was water, water should not leak into your car from the outside.

I will also run the heater and air cond and see what happens.

Thanks

I had this happen on an old Dodge. The A/C hole was pluged where it drains out. Check that.

That is another option too, ty I will check that. Or I am sure the car has drains in the roof/firewall that drain water when it rains. Maybe one of those are clogged. I will have to do a search and see if the car has these drains and where they are. I know with the bimmer you could run a thin wire down through these drains to un clog them
