Modifiying my C32

Hi all, im from south africa and i drive a 2004 C32, i am currently in the process of ordering a few parts from LET motorsport,ie heat exchanger, phenolic spacers,181 pulley kit, johnson CM30 coolant pump and intake kit.
For the moment all i've done is remove the cats, i am really excited about modding the car as from what ive read in this forum that these parts really make a huge difference.
The car has been run on 2 dynos and has made 330rwhp.

Can anyone please give me some sort of idea as to how much more power i can expect?
Has anyone done all of what i am going to do to my car?
Thanks guys... this is a really informative forum, will be eagerly awaiting a response.

I hate to say it, but for now you expect 0 hp increase. This is because LET has suspended all hardware shipments for the time being while they relocate their facilities.

When did you order the equipment? I thought the website was not allowing orders, except for the ECU tunes.

I am in the process of ordering these parts, a tuning shop is ordering these parts for me via Jerry.
I believe that all that i need is in stock except the johnson pump, hope we get a response soon that the parts are in stock so i can order all of them together, im also really bummed at the fact that there are no 185mm pullies in stock, guess i'll just have to settle for the 181mm.

There are little to no C32's from where i come from, so nobody here can tell me much about modifying it.

Hope i get to place my order soon...

MegaMerc - you are in good hand going with the LET package.

I recommend you go back to the dyno shop. 330 rwhp for a stock car is not a normal figure; that's 50 hp crank over factory.

Post the graph if you have it.

i dont have the graph, but maybe our dynos may read differently as opposed to yours over on that side of the world, could also be that we have a much higher octane fuel.

remember guys im only asking for advice on how much of a difference these mods can make on my car, and im not ruling out the fact that my dyno reading maybe incorrect.

So can anyone help me with my original question about the power readings and obsevations after the mods???

True..............I say atleast about 50rwhp(if Tune included) and more torque and much much harder to launch

Ok, based on your original data, you are going to encounter two scenarios:

1) Your new dyno graph (with all the listed mods) will yield a bogus 370/380 rwhp. Making you the fastest C32 with a pulley/intake and no tune.

or,

2) Your new dyno graph (with all the listed mods) will yield a 320-330 rwhp considering your pull was done right this time...

In conclusion, you can get 40-50 crank Hp.

ok, so with the tune and the listed mods, is a 12 sec run possible, with semi's?

and one more question... i've now learned that there are no johnson pumps in stock, with this part missing from my list, will this affect my performance even though i have a near brand new stock pump?

Uhh, hang on here. As I stated in my first post to this thread, expect 0 hp from LET hardware.

I don't care if your running alcohol in that thing your RWHP is way off.

95, 93, 91, 2000019191919 octane it does not matter

Hmmmm so it makes 349 HP at the crank stock, add in the Nigeria scam factor, that adds at least 50 rwhp. I see so your car makes about 399 at the crank and about 330 at the wheels......

given your in south africa, your probably on the european system for octane ratings. 95 oct is equal to 91oct in US.

It isn't a direct conversion since Europe goes by RON's and the US goes by something in between.

What kind of dyno did you use?

If the guy used a dynapak, then his number can be legit since a dynapak reads around 12-15% higher then a dynojet.

If you take 12-15% away from 330whp its close to 280whp on a dynojet, which is within the realm of what everyone else dyno'ed.

Could it be PS instead of HP?

Either way, you don't have a stock car like you think, or the dyno was mis-calibrated. 285ish rwhp, give or take a little, is pretty common for stock. I have almost the exact mods you're looking for (181mm pulley, cooling mods, no intake but headers + ECU tune) and my dyno looked like this:

https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c55-amg-w203/260384-let-stage-2-181mm-dyno-results.html

FWIW, this was on 93 octane. Good luck with your mods.

can anyone tell me, if the difference between the 181mm pulley in comparison to the 185mm pulley.

Without the johnson cm30 pump, will my stock pump work with the let heat exchanger?

Difference between 181mm and 185mm is the 185mm makes a couple more pounds of boost, i.e. more power, but with more heat generation.

Yes, your stock pump will work with any aftermarket heat exchanger... it just may not be as effective as HE + CM30 pump.

FYI, it may be of interest to you that LET has posted that effective immediately they are no longer offering hardware for the C32 - did you read the link Scott posted above?
