C32 with blown motor...what's it worth?
i have some friends who want to do an LS1 swap, haha, but i don't know anything about it with a Benz, has anyone done that?

I would recommend against doing a LS swap in this car. C32 isn't a miata or civic, a lot of the stock electrics are tied to the ecu.
I have no doubt you can probably get ls engine working in the car, but unless you dont enjoy having air bags, abs, bas, power seats, head lights. I would keeping the stock engine and ecu.
i wouldnt want to be the one trying to figure it out
For example in the c32 seat control modules, it's the ecu that tells the seat control module to stop draining power after 15min when the cars off.
If it doesn't get that signal, it'll keep draining power over night.
The cars more digital then electrical, hence the expensive repair costs.
I'm not saying its not possible, but its a lot more complicated then your typical ford or honda.
Those crazy germans like to over engineer things.

that swap would cost more than repairing your current engine or replacing your current engine with that used engine.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Not worth the time...
i know my best bang for the buck would be to part it out, but honestly this car has been a pain to work on and i don't think i have the time or space to do it.
i've gotten a lot of responses locally and even from this forum of people interested in the car....most for doing an LSx swap, damn car nuts...but quite a few who are interested in buying it. the problem is, i don't know what to tell them i'm looking to get out of it.
my current FD project cost me $4800 just for a 'decent' rolling chassis, so i'd like to think this could bring at least $5k if not more.
unfortunately i've spent most of my money on the FD so i'm really short on cash, kinda looking to cut my losses and run.
Remember the Crossfire and SLK use the same motor
To attempt a rebuild would be cost prohibitive as they can cost +5k
unlike a stock rebuild on a 13B can cost anywhere from $ 1800 to $3000.
the EIS,ECU,SRS systems to name a few all VIN Coded to the car... So if you put in... lets say a E55 motor in there, you will have to either reflash the E55 ECU to the vin of everything else (your car)... otherwise you got nada...
some trannys are different.... theres alotts stuff....
Where are you located? i could rebuild the engine for you.... or maybe there isint that much wrong with yours... or i could put in another one.....

I've lost compression on my #4 cylinder.
Car is in at RBM in Atlanta right now and they're popping the head off tomorrow to dig down in to see what's wrong.
Minimum $2K.
Add that to the $3200 spent 3 weeks ago (alternator, SC pulley/bearings)...
And this car is starting to remind me of my '93 R1 that kept blowing seals (two engines...).
