Pricing on an E500

What do you guys think would be a GREAT deal on this car? I guess it just turned 30K miles. I know this is not the W211 but I know most of you guys pretty well and trust your judgement.

If I need to take this to the W211 board I will. There has to be someone here that owns both?

Thanks and if this needs to be deleted and taken to W211 forum please delete and I wil re post.

These E500 look like they sell as quick as the C32 do that is why I ask about a great deal. Did any of the E500's come with a staggered set up?

Thanks

the e500 is still considered the w211 just like a C230 is still a w203. The platforms dont change when they are AMG. I think you are referring to a e55.

Drive the E500, it's not as fast as the c32, so i think you will be disapointed.

The 4matics should have not come with a staggered setup but an E500 with the sport package will.

You are probally right on the performance. Still seraching for that E39 M5 within 100 miles of where I am and there are a handful in my price range but all have had some sort of paint work. I am sure the paint is fine just do not want to deal with selling it and having an issue because it had a body panel or two re painted.

Thanks

his claim of sitting on it at that price. He is trying to be a dealer and he is a private party seller.Car is worth tops 24k,it will sit until it reaches that price and by then the price will even be lower$27,950?
Do your homework on the problems with the W211 platform.Inspect by a pro.If you want it offer 23k and leave your phone number for when he gets down that low, when he comes back down to earth

The decision was he may not be in the market to sell but that would depend on the offer. There was a reason at $27K range there was not one bit I guess. If I decide on it I will through out the 23k. With how things are going sales wise I have a lower cap on my purchase price for a car sucks

At 28k why not go for the 03 President Edition E55 1 of 7 for 29k?

There is an 05 E55 at the Columbia, SC MB dealer. Black / Black w/ about 45k miles. Lease turn in from female driver. They're *asking* something like 34/5 but are somewhat flexible. No affiliation other than having bought a number of cars there. If you're interested, shoot me a p.m. and I'll give you my contacts phone number and name.

Forgot to add, its either been CPO'd or is being CPO'd. It looked so good I was / am sorely tempted to take them my C55 ...

Have you driven the E500? I drove one before I bought my C55, and I really didn't like it. Maybe it was just the one I drove but to me it felt really sloppy and boatish in the corners, and like someone said before, its not as fast as our C's, so I immediately elimated it from my search. Especially if what you really want is the M5, I can't see you being anything but disappointed with the E500.

I can't believe that you debate a e55 to a m5 and finally look at e500? if me I say NOOOO all the way. With that $28K I can deal on a 04-05 e55 without any problem.

Only reason E500 came to mind was newer car, less miles, less impact on wallet than an E55 and an M5. Things in the past 2-3 months seem to have gotten worse business wise not better. So my thoughts were until things speed up again maybe get something for less money, less miles and newer. If this car is German is it going to out perform the E55 and M5, NO.or spend it

But the other side of me says if I get anything slower than the C32 I am plan just not going to be happy.

Really what it has come down to is keep the cash and see how things go or just go for what I want now.

I am not one of those who would rather be seen in a nice car and not have a good cushion in good times and bad.

Hope this makes sense of why i started looking at lower priced cars but trying to stay German.

C350 then? Year or two old with low miles is gonna be much nicer on the wallet ... OTOH, speed is addictive ...
