Install Help Needed

Hey guys.

I just picked up some parts for my C55 and needed a little help on the installs.

1. K&N Air Filters (I have looked but cant find anything)
2. CLK Grille (I have the grille. What else do I need and how to do it)

Thanks in advance.

If your airboxes are like the C32, it's just a matter of removing the screws from the airbox and replacing. The grill comes out fairly easy too. The grill takes less than 5 minutes and airboxes I'd say five minutes each- max. It's really not that bad.

Thanks for the reply...

I was under the impression that I needed to purchase a different latch for the hood... Is this correct? I already have the flat hood badge.

if you have a c55 maybe, i remember something about the CLk needing a longer latch bc of the grille. Since it is the same front end, that may be the same. I know MikeGPR03 has one, pm him about it.......

You will need a different hood latch. To get to the air filters you will need to remove the front cover on the Airbox then pull the complete Airbox out flip it around and the torx screws will be there (2 filters).

No problem, yes all you need is the hood latch. You need to change the piece of plastic that goes from the radiator support to the grille, which should come with the grille. If you you the flat emblem make sure that the bottom of the emblem the (screw) isn't to long and runs into that plastic piece. If it does simply open a small hole in that small plastic grille support. Then the hood will close with no problems. Also depending on the grille you will need to remove the chrome strip that is on the hood about six plastic nuts no biggie.

Sorry for the Hijack: Dyno-Comp in Scottsdale AZ built this car, I knew it was for sale or going to be before it ever hit the net. (Insider info) it has a nice set of Renntech monolites on it.

Here is an excellent thread from a few years ago (with pictures) to show you exactly how to change to the CLK Grille for a C55.
