Got my VRP tune...(partial happy/partial rant)

So the guys at VRP/Powerchip tuned my car, and I got to see AMGSC's beast in the works, and their project SL55. Travis was quite a guy and gave me a lot of information/opinions and suggestions about future tuning.

Overall, the car definitely responds a lot better. Acceleration is more fluid and pulls harder in the mid-rage to high top end. Haven't had a chance to test the speed governor removal yet, heh.

Now the rant part. I purchase what was *supposed* to be a pair of K&N filters for my car at a price of $60 including shipping. I was ecstatic, and was going to sell my Greens. I take it to the tune to have them changed out.

There was only 1 filter.

I called autopartswarehouse.com, and their excuse was that it was incorrectly described on the website. It said on the side '1 set of 2 filters'. I even talked to someone online at the company to ensure this was true, and they affirmed it.

Long story short, they wouldn't send me another filter, so I told them to kick rocks and am in the process of returning my part. I guess I'll just wait to buy an SL 55 intake outright, then sell my Greens. It's just frustrating that they wouldn't stand by what they wrote, and took the cheesy way out. Lesson learned. Won't buy from them again.

But as for VRP, Vadim, and Travis, I'm very happy with my investment. Now just to get more...

sorry to hear about your filter experience. i recollect several members having a similar experience. it is really aggravating how some of these online vendors do that. best of luck to you!

good to hear about your tune..i noticed a similar performance after the tune. Sorry to hear about the filters, $60 for two filters seems reasonable. I got two filters from LET for $70 shipped awhile back.

Yup, several of us ran into that problem getting filters from them. I will never do business with them again and would never recommend them to anyone.

Autopartswarehouse is an absolute joke. I ordered (2) greens and they sent me (1) K&N! They wanted me to pay shipping back to them and asked me if I was sure they only sent me one filter. After this B.S. I told myself I would never buy from them jokers again.

These guys offer good prices, but have complete morons working the orders. I personally had issues with the delivery of catalytic converters, and also had the wrong brake pads shipped to me. They tried the "you pay return shipping" approach with me as well, which was resolved after speaking with their manager.

Haha, you can pick them at a good price. It's a buyer's market for these type of cars.
