How often do you change your oil?
I usually visit the Benz dealer every 3,500 Miles for an oil change. This happened twice in the 7 or so months of driving. Today I reset my Service B light on the cluster and now its telling me Service A is due in 10,000 miles. I thought service A includes oil change. So if that's correct, I'm supposed to change the oil every 10k miles?

More oil chatter
I would say it depends on how hard you are driving. If you drive it like an old lady or leased it, stick with the service recommendations. If you drive it hard like i do 3500 miles is a good spot to change. Most synths can take alot of miles, But if your like me, Piece of mind is king.

You won't hurt anything by changing your oil frequently, but I've put around 450k miles on cars with Mobil 1 changed at 10-13k without any problems. The last car was a BMW M5 that burned as much oil at 180k as is it did at 15k. It looked virtually new inside too.
Having said that, I understand that the new Mobil 1 formulas have changed so who knows.

Infrequent oil changes - despite what lube places may want you to believe -- is not really that bad for your engine. Synthetic Oil at 10,000~15,000 miles is usually not that dirty or broken down anyway, and their additives tend to last that long or longer. What are MUCH BIGGER problems, are clogged oil filters and/or low oil levels which went unnoticed or unaddressed. That is why things like bypass filtration and oil level sensors came about.

My bad
Driveing extended services on your oil can be bad. Synthetic or not. If you run oil 10k miles and change it yourself that stuff smells like diesel fuel because of all the combustion gases that creep into it over time. And that gas saturated oil definately does harm to lubricated metal to metal parts.

I change mine every 1K, but I don't drive mine much other than at the track. So 1k is quite a few passes. It's so easy to change the oil, and NW hooks me up with great deals on filters. I drain the oil instead of using the topsider method. Usually takes about 20 minutes start to finish. If I had to take it in, and drove it normally than I would just go by the oil reminder from the car.

You are close. I decided to count my timeslips that I've managed to save. I figured I'm just at about 225 passes.
On my 3rd set of drag radials. Not bad for a rookie season. New season officially starts Jan. 24 anyone want to join me? Looking for part time work or sponsors to pay for upcoming race season
