In a Drastic turn of Events!

I bought an AMG supercharger complete with TB, intercooler, and airbox. Not bad for 2k i must say. Now its all about getting it to work on my C55.

You sir have lost your mind! Good luck, Bueno Suerte, ummmm best wishes....

Honestly let me know how this project unfolds. I am about 1 week from pulling the trigger on the Kleemann but this might be more fun......

Has anyone done this? I am wondering if you just got the Kleemann ECU tune and fired it up how close you would be.

You will need to slow down that SC though.........

It would be great to see this done.

That AMG SC is going to produce far too much boost for your high CR M113. Obviously, you'll have to suppress the SC or decrease your CR significantly.
Then again, you already know this!

It'll be great to follow the progress on this project!!

The very best of luck!

I got a call into Renntech from Ken (local Renntech dealer) to see if they will but together an install kit for me. need to drop the boost down so finding a pulley is the new task. And Yes I'm nuts, Believe it or Not... My ol' lady was all for this! Its is going to be a fun project and a good way to learn all about supercharging.

Just spoke with Renntech and they said its not going to work. Does anyone disagree with this? We have seen this mod done before. They were talking about getting all new pistons, rods, modules boreing out the cylinders???? Help from you guys is needed for sure.

Im pretty sure someone has done this before with a larger custom SC pulley for lower boost... I forget where, but IIRC, the guy didnt use an AMG motor to start with.

Maybe the folks at C3P could lend a hand w/ making ya a pulley for the SC...

I thought is all sounded too good to be true. I think the project is so compliated, it is easier to drop an E55 engine into your car, as witnessed during this project:
https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c...oject-x55.html

So, now you have all the capital outlay, a pile of hardware and nothing to do with it? Is that dog house looking comfortable yet?

I have seen an E55 motor swap being done. I would not call that easy or even expert level work. Unless you eat sleep and breathe Mercedes its one tough project.

hooleyboy, yes it can be done. It will take some serious trial and error and a good team of people who know the car inside and out. That and some serious dinero or sweat labor.

I would like to suggest you call Sunil at MWHouston, and ask him about internals etc on these motors. He will know how or if it is possible. First step will be to slow that SC down.

The guy I spoke with at renntech told me that my car only has a 5.0LT not a 5.4LT???? I really dont know how this project is going to go lets just hope smoothly even if it takes abit. I'm goign to need a larger pulley for sure. The guy at Renntech claimed the C55 motor can not handle 500hp.

What is that guy smoking? Your engine is 5439 ml. Isn't that 5.4 ltrs?

You need to PM Sunil (X55 project) or Vadim @ VRP to get the straight scoop here.

It can be done. There is a member with CLK55 that had it done.

It is not an easy project, if you can get your money back, return it.

Used Kleemann is a better value and easier to tune.

Does the E55 SC ports fits directly on top of the C55? you might need custom/gaskets, some retro fit/port match?.. tune...etc.. jesus.. good luck Hooley!

11-1 cr is not too high to sc, like you said, keep the boost minimal.

The Guy I spoke with at Renntech claimed he spoke with Hartmut the owner and said I would need a whole new motor pistons, bore, Bla bla bla. He went as far to say 80K in engine work . The work will be done by Dyno-Comp in Scottsdale AZ, Not to mention the top notch ECU tunning they can do. One guy at Renntech claims its a waste and my Local Renntech dealer says YES! it can and will be done safely, Dyno-Comp also told me they have Renntech working on an install kit? I'm getting some mixed info fo-shizzle.

I'm guessing with parts removed and loss of tune About 320whp after loss of Airbox and custom tune. I hoping for 400-420 safe HP at the wheels and try to get this SC to run 6-8psi rather than from what i hear 12-15psi. I've never had a project make me shake in my office chair like this. I will make it very public after its all said and done (if it gets done) what exactly was need to make it work and work well. Holy-poop, this is going to be an adventure. Any help please chime in.

Why didnt you consult the MBWorld Tribunal like you usually do? You need counselling my freind.

The owner of Renntech is only interested in selling you stuff. Dont listen to him he gave up on the C Class before the 5.4 motor and as his top sales guy said Us C Class Guys are too cheap. Yeah I guess at $ 3K for an intake box I can understand where hes coming from.

If you wanted that much power, you should have followed Chef Rolly's recipe

It was a spur of the moment buy. Seen it on Ebay and said F-it, I'm buying it. IF I dont buy it I would have been all over the place with what I wanted to do. Trust me I value most members opinion.
