airmass meter substitute

Hello,i think that your car is a C55 equiped with an airmass meter.but the sc and the intake manifold of the E55k are equiped with a map sensor.so your ECU and wiring must be replaced.

im pretty sure that MAF stays there and a MAF clamp is used for the signal not to go out of wack when that blower begine to suck ALOT more air than what the car normally breaths

Update

My car is now in the shop... So I'm stuck driving around in a old work minivan for a bit...

We ran into a crank pulley problem and were pondering ideas on how to get around it. Dyno-Comp was able to score a past customers car that had this mod done to it as well. So we will be able to spec out the custom crank pulley and have one made... so that a plus

So the project is officaly under way.

Hi Guys,

I just picked up a Diamond Black 2006 C55 to replace my had since new 2005 C320 AWD daily driver.

What are the biggest things that help performance on these cars.?

I could... Right now I just want to get the car working right and then think about other mods down the road.

You will need a custom-made housing to fit on a C55

The 80mm TB: If it fits on a 55k blower then it could be used in my project.

C55-Kompressor

Kudo's Hooley on the ambitious project. This is good stuff.

Am I missing something or is the car gonna wind up replicating the E55 engine set up in the C55? A lot of the detail items such as the Crank pulley might fit? Low compression turbo pistons or the stock pistons and rods from an E55 should work. The E uses the same head and block as the C and then added the kompressor. I would not be surprised to learn that the crank and rods are the same part number. But that info is outside my pay grade, lol.

Good luck with the project. If you think you had traction issues at the strip before, well just get ready.

It will look just like the 55k motor, Other than running a custom made intake fitted with a MAFS rather than a Map sensor. We are going to have a custom crank pulley made to lower boost.

When its all said and done after the supercharger. I will take on another project to build the motor and trans. In about a years time it will be a decked out E55 in a C55 shell. To me thats a great combo, I will get the performance of a modded E55 with the size, weight, and nimbleness of the C55. Most of this stuff is a ways away though.

I plan on taking this m113 block to the limit. When this thing is done its going to be Barrett Jackson material.

Update

The project is moving at a good pace. We just got an other person with the same type of mod to bring his car into the shop so we have an exact copy of what needs to be done. We also were able to spec out the crank pulley so that very good news.

Here is a list of parts needed so far
Guide pulley
Tensioner pulley
e55 thermostat
plenum gaskets
intake gaskets
lots of screws and blots
E55 fuel rail
E55 injectors (still dont have them yet)
E55 water pump with upper idler pulley
Custom Crank pulley
EGR by pass thingy
Modified Oil filter housing.
Heat exchanger (thanks Josh)
intercooler hoses and pump
belts
other Misc stuff

This is not an easy or cheap job, I'm married to this project So I'm in it to win it. Kleemann SC would be cheaper. However, I have the potential to run alot more boost down the road.
Here are some pics of the loner car and mine

Isnt this cover the ugliest think you have ever seen?

Looks good! Glad to see/hear that there is real progress on this!

I noticed your valve covers are a bit leaky... maybe while everything is apart, ya should have those fixed? :x
