So I got my VRP tune almost a month ago, and wow. Definite power increase. My brother has a w210 E55 AMG, which used to pull on me about a car length 0-60, and slowly pull away from 60-on. Tonight was the first time we have been driving together since I got my tune; and let's just say he was quite impressed. I now pull on him about a car length from 0-60 and slowly pull from 60-on. Its quite nice
Special thanks to Vadim and everyone at VRP
Next....intake and pulley

interesting ....i thought they were the same....maybe from a dig, the W210 E55 is a little quicker off the line because of the torque and pulls above 60 because it is a V8

What mods does your bro have?
I test drove a W210 AMG while last time I was car shoping, and the only reason I got the C32 is because it was significantly faster.
That is pretty impressive that VRP tune gave you that much. If he pulled one before 60 and now you pull 1 car it must be atleast a .4 difference at 1/4. Which is on par with LET

Nah they only weigh about 100lbs more ~3650 vs. 3760. So add stereo equip in the C32 and take the spare out of the E55 and its a wash.

yeah I dont know what it is but his car is freakin fast. He doesnt have any mods either, just took out his spare and lowered etc. But I guess with hand built engines you will always get one that stands out among the rest.

Some stock W210 E55 are just surprisingly fast and some are not. Mine was like the first statement before I started modding it
Also keep in mind that some W210 E55 has 347 HP stock while the later has 354 HP. And the weight can also differ quite a bit depending on what options they have.

Could be the torque? Doesn't the W210 mill make 390ft lbs?
I've driven a 55 W210/W208 and the 5.5L N/A motor is a surprise. I want one for my W202 some day.

Jeff, thank you!
Enjoy your C32!
I still miss mine.
Having driven, tuned and dynoed many C32s and W210E55s, the only thing that I can tell you for sure is that the cars vary from one to another.
I have seen stock C32s from 260RWHP to 305RWHP. The same for stock W210 E55s from as low of 274 RWHP to as high as 310RWHP.

My friend had a 99 W210 E55 and i would always woop on him in my C32. But when you drive the E55 it defenetly feels more torquey, and i love the grumble of the V8.

391 ft lbs to be exact
.
The W210 E55 & W208 CLK55 are heavily underrated, Don't assume they are slow, they aren't. However, when modded they are completely different animals, right Abalone?

Guess mine belong to one of those more powerful stock E55 when it left the production band in Germany back in 2001!

C32 vs E55 n/a
First, don't assume your bro's E55 is bone stock just cause he told you so... I know how brothers and buddies think. "Oh yeah man it is bone freakin stock. BTW you wanna put $50 bucks on this race?", lol. ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Second, the tires, available traction and just the way you launch can make as much as 1/2 sec difference (sometimes more) in the 0-60 times. It is easier to launch the n/a cars just cause they make less torque right off the bottom as are less prone to wild uncontrolable wheelspin. The C32 makes more torque down low right off the line and if traction is not perfect can spin and then short shift to 2nd, which causes it to fall on its face for just a few 1/10's of a sec as it picks up speed in 2nd. It still feels fast but will hurt you off the line. When the C32 hooks well right off the line that same affect of having more torque in the lower half of the rpm band helps your 60 ft times but makes little difference after the shift to 2nd since from then on your in the upper 1/3rd of the rpm band. How many times have you seen SC'ed cars at the drag strip that just lunge ahead right off the line? It is that broad flat torque curve that makes it happen.
In fact when the C32 hooks well it is positively violent off the line for such a small engine. It takes a dragstrip with lots of rubber down or really clean, coarse pavement to hook it up though. Just your average cold, dirty highway on cold or wornout street tires makes it tough to be able to floor it right off the line and put all the power to the ground.
