Question C32 AMG Resonator deleted

Got my C32 Resonator deleted today for 100 bucks and I was told that aluminum pipe is better that stainless steal on our car. The shop owner told me they crack easily around the welding seal when you run over bumps. Is that true?

I was really surprised after the res delete, it sounded pretty much the same in side of the car while driving.

Yeah I used aluminized steel on mine and it looks fine. The muffler guy that did it has been using it forever and hasn't had many problems. Cost me $60 or so total. But yeah you dont hear much of a change inside the car, but when the windows are down you can.

It's actually aluminized steel, not aluminum. It's cheaper than stainless and is slightly less finicky to weld. Stainless will hold up better over the long run, especially in wet/snowy climates, but aluminized steel is fine for most applications. Performance-wise, there's zero difference.

Cars and boats!
If you live near the coast (saltwater environment), you definately want stainless steel.

I wish it made as much difference on the non AMG cars. I got mine replaced with a stainless pipe and the difference is barely noticable. If you turn off the radio, put the windows down, and punch the gas, you'll hear a little something.
