V8 Kompressor Badges ya/na?

The Techs at the shop thing after my project is done I would have earned the right to use V8 Kompressor badges. So whats do yo guys think? I'm about 50/50 on the idea. Would be funny if did it and showed up in the poser picture thread.

Yeah I'm feeling the sleeper thing I've got enough badges as is. Waxing around another badge will be a pain i can do with out.

I'm making around 350whp I'm guessing I will pick up 100whp. I think i will be running 1 to 2psi more boost than Kleemann and Renntech blowers make .. so i'm told. So I'm shooting for 450whp

Stock E55 isn't rated 469 hp at the wheel though. 450whp is what at crank? 530ish maybe?

Nice, you ll have one of the fastest C55. Are you planning on an LSD upgrade as well?

As for the LSD: granted no one had opened up the rear end. We are in debate if the car when i bought it already had one. The reason we say this is In dyno mode I can put down 2 solid strips in a brake stand and when I do doughnuts i get 2 strips. Both tires just can spin.

IF I dont have one and I just have a good electronic lock up, I will get one.

I say go for it! I put my V8 Kompressor badges on the day after the SC went in and it looks very OEM. I've got nothing but favorable remarks about them and your reply is absolutely true when they ask. The sleeper thing is actually overrated instead of underated and it could get you a speeding ticket if you keep having to prove it by sneaking up on somebody. The badges for me has acted as a good deterent for many potential challengers and saved me a few tickets too.

You could put the V8 compressor badge on or maybe put just the "K" from kompressor after the C55 .......it ain't posing, they just can't see under the hood.I would love to see the look when someone, say in a E55 pulls up at a redlight next to you and you get the look. The light turns green and you're gone.It would make for a interesting conversation at the next light.

Sure i lay down two strips of rubber in dyno mode too and still have the dingleberries on my rear fender still. I'm pretty sure you dont have one cos you wouldnt need dyno mode to lay down both strips

I dont need dyno mode to do it. A C55 can only do a brake stand/burn out in dyno mode. ESP wont let me even when its off.

Should actually be a whisker under 550 bhp, if it hits 450 rwhp (assuming 18% driveline loss).

I'm sure it does not have it. I have been able to lay down 2 black strips from day one. You should try that phantom grip LSD. Seems legit- same design as Kleeman for cheap.

Get the 5.5 ones. They're revised and give it an "updated look".

I personally found the C55 to be quite bland when it comes to badges and it looks so much like a normal non-AMG C-class. Unless people notice the CLK front end and/or quad exhaust setup and/or the actual C55 AMG badges on the trunk, it could easily be mistaken for a plain non-AMG W203 C-class with the sport package.

Do you want people to think you're just a plain non-AMG C-class?..... or do you want people to see that you have something special under the hood? That's a personal decision.

Even a guy as conservative myself decided to put simple "V8" badges on the front fender to at least let people know that it ain't no plain C-class.

For your case, Hooley, I would do one of the following: absolutely debadge EVERYTHING if you want the ultimate sleeper and not have anyone even want to "play" with you because they won't know anything about your car.....,

.....or go all the way and let people know what you have under the hood with the "V8 Kompressor" badge on the front side fender. You can even add a "K" after the "C55" badge on the trunk. Car enthusiasts WILL notice and will lead to people wanting to "play" with you to see what you've really got.

I think leaving the standard C55 AMG as the only badges does nothing for you or your super C-class. If I had spent so much money/effort into making a super car, I would want some people to notice.

There was a time I considered getting a Kleeman blower......you sometimes make me want to reconsider that decision.

I like the K idea after the "C55" on the trunk and V8 kompressor badges on the side as well.

You make some good point: Part of me thinks upon completion I've would have earned the right to use kompressor badges. Something to think about: If it came from the factory with a blown v8 you know Mercedes would have put a kompressor badges on it.

You know what I might do it to see if i like it. If i dont i can always take them off.
