New UK based C55 owner saying hi!
Hi everyone.
I am based in Winchester in the UK and have recently bought a 2005 C55 AMG. In Tanzanite Blue with 44k miles on the clock it had one previous lady owner who clearly looked after it extremely well. I love the car... and I love the noise it makes. I'm looking forward to comparing notes with other C55 owners here and overseas as I am sure I have a lot to learn about this great car. I have attached a couple of pics...

Welcome to the board and congratulations on the purchase.
There's a ton of information here--just use the search function and you'll be amazed at what you can uncover.
To get you started, here's a thread made by hooleyboy--it covers most of the performance mods available to the C55.

2005 C55 AMG, 2010 VW GTI (Stage 1)
welcome!
i've spent some time in the UK but i'm not sure how roads are in winchester... if they're not too bad or u do alot of motorway driving, maybe consider bumping up to 19s... i have the TSW Bremmas and love the look.
best of luck and enjoy!

Thanks for the great welcome everyone!
The paint code is 359 for those that were asking.
I'm fairly rural so the roads are ok. If you go off the beaten track though they do deteriorate. Otherwise a fair amount of my driving is done on A roads and motorways.
The registration plate was purchased by the previous owner when she bought the car from new but she upgraded to a C63 AMG and so she was happy to keep the plate with the original car as it wouldn't have made sense moving it across. As I'm sure you know, UK plates have 2 letters, 2 numbers (to donate the year) then 3 letters. I blocked out the last 3 letters cos pics of my car are on boards here in the UK and good practice is to keep reg plates blocked out!
I've had the car for 1 month as my intro says - av fuel consumption is just under 20mpg in that time. Not too bad I guess, but I didn't buy it for it's fuel consumption. I'm running the car on superunleaded fuel although the dealer did say it was ok to run it on regular unleaded. Any comments?
I expect that UK and US specs differ slightly so here's a quick list of the main (standard) options on my car:
Auto headlights
Auto windscreen wipers
6 CD autochanger (in glove box)
iPod connection
Bluetooth phone prep
Cruise
Intelligent Climate control
Heated front seats
Sat Nav
Harmon Kardon Pro Logic 7 audio
Auto dimming rear view mirror
I'm sure there's loads more... think these are the obvious ones!
I bought the car from a main dealer so it comes with a full manufacturers 12 month warranty and so far no problems.
Only issue that I have is that after short journeys only, there is a burning smell coming into the car through the air vents - I will be asking MB about this soon. Anyone experienced this?
Thanks again for the great welcome!
