As everyone else has mentioned, congrats hooleyboy!! Sounds like an absolute monster - I'd work on lining up a Quaife straight away, if I were you... breaking the tires loose at 80 mph sounds dicey
EDIT: Agree with AMGSC that the TQ curve and HP curves look a bit unusual. Not saying the TQ isn't legit, but can someone explain why it has the huge camel hump? I was expecting the HP/TQ curves to look like the stock and modded lines, just moved way up the Y axis... and HP does, but not TQ.

Hey Congrats bruther...
Its soo funny....I was thinking about your problem of boost dropping off at higher rpm and was going to PM you to ask about ur intake setup--as it sounded like not enough air at higher rpm.
Awesome job. Just so we know....you are holding 5psi steady to redline??
Looking at your intake setup---I would bet there's still 10-15rwhp in there. Looks like a 2.5" right? You need dual 3".
I guess now that you're at 450hp---a bigger pulley isnt really necessary. You'll be trapping over 121mph with ur setup. Get a slightly bigger pulley...boost to 7psi...and you'll put down 485rwhp and trap 124-125mph and be one of the fastest Mercedes benz(until Vrp ships out more 875/925 packages)
**also---to address the torque issue......please note that the E55 engine is much lower compression ratio 9:1......this car has 11:1. FI is a multiplier for whatever power you have at NA. Our Stock E55 engines might be putting down only 260rwhp/300lbs/ft NA compared to the C55's starting point.

I'm so happy for you Hooleyboy. My respect goes to you and your shop.
You did the impossible for months to come up with your goals and achieve your targets.
Also, big props to your shop. It seems like they never let you down and found ways to go around all the issues. In a very good time frame...
Who did the tune?

HOOLEYMAN! I knew youd get this to happen! Im glad ya stuck through with it all and got everything to work Congrats!
edit: There is nothing wrong w/ running springs - Ya should talk to splinter about his set up and how he got 245s up front... It could help dramatically reduce your under steer! Lets see some suspension work to help make sure you stay planted!

Thank you all, This project was done not only for my own selfish reason, but to see if I could get this done on a budget and help out MBworld members.
I was not able to get this done on the set budget so thats a bummer. there is just a lot of small parts needed that added up.
For the people who are wondering what kind of boost i'm running.... I'm not telling.

Out Of Control!!
Awesome!!! Congrats on a job well done. $11k out the door is a very good price too! I bet alot of people follow your footsteps. Thanks for paving the way for new mods at a lower price point
Now get that thing to the track with some drag radials!!!

That car must be a monster. The C55 is a real sleeper. I drove one the other day, and was surprised by how quick the car felt, so I can imagine what your car must feel like.
Congrats! I'm really impressed with how the shop was able to get your car up and going so quick. As you know, there have been a long line of tuners that have either taken a long, long time or even failed completely with similar projects.

I'm sure if Dyno Comp were to mass produce a kit of some kind it would probably end up being more like 8-10k total but even so $11k is still a bargain for the performance catagory this conversion puts the car in. very impressive.

Congratulations! I have definately been following this build and am thrilled that you and dyno-comp pulled this off so well and so fast. Fantastic! Get out and race. Like others have said, I bet that you will feel the need for an LSD soon enough. Mad props to our new forum east coast representative!

hooley, Man-o-man! I've been watching your progress and I must admit some of the stuff you wrote was quite humerous.
Congrats my Brother! Ya done good! Impressive numbers and I imagine the adventure you had going this route kept you up a night... The bottom line to this is that you've probably got one of the top C55s in the country. Really looking forward to seeing some video of this monster.

If anyone wants to do this build. there are a few things to think about.
1) you must have a conection for MB stock part, It will still cost an arm and a leg, but at least you are getting some sort of discount and they add up.
2) You need a shop that knows its way around Mercedes Kompressor cars.
3) custom pulley: you will need a to have a custom pulley pressed into your stock pulley. I've done a ton of math on this and 125mm to 133mm will give you a fair amount of power. (not saying how big my crank pulley is)
4) custom parts. You will need a bunch of custom parts, but any tune shop with good power tools can make... Parts like EGR block off plates, mouting brackets, lots of hoses of all sorts of sizes, Mini air filter that connects tot he drivers side valve cover.
5) Intake, You will need to have a custom intake made that involves your Mass air-flow sensor. IF your MAF is in the wrong spot your A/F will go wacko. The filter design I have was after 10 other setup that didnt work... So theres your R&D.
6) wires. You will have to wire up the supercharger so it is always running I believe its just a 12v hard wire to have the clutch always on a retro fit car wil not know how to engage the clutch. I have wired in to my car some safety nets like... If the intercooler pump ever fails the supercharger will shut off, sure that will make it run pig rich but its better than kaboom.
7) you will need to use your N/A throttle body for ecu and wiring reasons
8) the C32 heat exchanger is a direct fit and clicks into place no problems at all.
9) Mapping: lots of time on the dyno, getting the A/F dialed. Its hard to do when you are running a MAF rather than the map sensor.
10) this is the hardest part... down time, it may have seemed to some that this was a quick build but try driving a minivan around that is so beat up your friends call it the "Bang bus" How do you roll up on some hot chicks and eye them up in a beat-up mini van without looking like a sex offender! I'm so glad thats over.
here is a video of a 449whp dyno pull taken yesterday. nothing to special.
