If I can't make the start of the ADRA race I'll be out there around 8pm on. I'm planning on running the race but my schedule has been crazy lately.
Evan, can you bring your air pump? And yes I plan on staying all night, what time should I get there?

If you are spinning both tires at 80mph you are probably putting down more power than me. It would have to be pretty cold out and me on street tires to get the triangle of fun blinking at those speeds. Haven't really pushed it much on the street after the last round of mods and I'm on r comps now so who knows.

What drag radials or slicks are you running at the track? I would go with a Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial or a Hoosier drag radial because they have softer sidewalls and allow for less drivetrain shock

Good luck at the track!!! You have a real beast on your hands!!!

You got to love the triangle of fun.

My car has nothing to the back end so it gets squirrely at many different speed. My big worry is tonight at the track even with slicks I got nothing weighing the back end down.

Don't forget that the harder you launch, the more weight transfer you're sending to those back wheels - the principal reason RWD cars are a better inherent drivetrain configuration than their FWD counterparts for drag racing.

Blackbenzz's recent record passes had pics of the trunk - it's stripped, no spare, no nothing...

Good luck; fingers crossed that you lay down E/T's deep into the 11's at 120+

Get there just after 8pm for the test n' tune part. Let the race put down a few qualifying passes so get that rubber down. Practice your launches first and do a few half passes. Then cool your car down wait till after 10pm and start making full passes. Come with a 1/4 tank and put the 100 octane in, heck it may be worth pulling your seats. Add a gallon at a time and never put more than a 1/4 total in the tank. Make sure to have a back up lock key for your stocks.

I'll bring my pump and the camera. I calculated Blackbenzz DA for his record pass based on the time he posted of his pass. He was around -1348 feet. We will be 2800' higher than that if we are lucky. Like I said getting 11's is the first milestone, that's knocking a full second off of your 12.99. You shouldn't have much trouble launching once you get your burnouts and launch down.

I know you are slightly new to the forum, But I have to say... I'm glad you are here sharing your killer car with us all. Its not every day someone joins MBworld with an S7 or an S8. How fun would it be to pit your car vs mine just for fun. I bet people in the stands would be asking (like they were tonight when i was racing) Was that a Mercedes?"

Thanks Jt..... the search is a wonderful thing, found the carnage below:
https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c...-official.html

Nice to see mid 11's.
Curious about the total wgt with driver. guessing 3900 w/driver/blower/mods
I'm thinking some wgt reduction, suspension mods, and you're in 10's.
Also curious about tq convertor mods (stall).
Also rear gear? Were you hitting 4th at the top end? Size rear tire?
Would it run quicker ET's if you upped the rev limit and stayed in 3rd across the traps? Shifting loses time.
Also guessing he's running race gas with an aggressive tune.
Assuming 3900lb w/driver and 120 mph trap = hp calc shows 545fwhp (strong)

Biggest problem with that much torque is traction...

Hooleyboy's not on this forum so much anymore as he's moved up to an SL55.

I'd suggest you search for threads by him in reference to exhaust, intake, E55 supercharger, etc. There's many well documented threads detailing every improvement mod he tried and recorded.

There's allot of reading to do.... but I'm thinking custom long tubes/exhaust, cams, p/p.
But will take some searching.

Sounds strong.... but don't get too hung up on dyno numbers...... trap speeds and et's are where it's at. 121mph is STRONG!

when hooley was NA, he had the renntech intake, a custom race gas tune (100 octane), full true dual exhaust with deleted secondaries, renntech shorty headers, and DRs. i think he still had the stock crank pulley

regarding the weight of the car.....hooley isn't exactly a lightweight per se. he weighs in over at least 200 (sorry hooley if you read this lol)

hooley experimented with cams and learned that there was no gain. long tubes are a source of great power for the c55. i forgot how much power the MBH C55 headers made, but it was a TON
