Took the Code 3 for a run...

Wow...is all I can say. Very big difference all around. Was still nervous about the bolt torquing, but everything seems to have worked out, so that's good.

All that's left is to go to Vadim at VRP and have the car retuned.

yay! glad you like it! as long as you torqued the bolt abo 14.75, you'll be fine.

retune will be good too! not sure how much more you get out of a retune, but i'm sure it will run more efficiently and you may squeeze out some more power!

We torqued it to 15 exactly. That 'should' be okay...right?

Just make sure you don't push it too hard till you get a retune. You will throw a CEL as you NEED more fuel to run the 185.

He has the C3P pulley so he won't "need" a tune (or re-tune). That said, go out and beat the snot out of her.

I just hope that bolt doesn't fly off. It's only tq'd down to 15 and all..... Kidding! You'll be fine. Now get your intake done and dyno along the way.

Not to steal your thread, but for all you C3p SC pulley dudes, has anyone run into any A/F issues. I read the post of when the pulley first came out and saw a A/F graph that showed that our cars actually ran richer with the pulley. I'm thinking of doing the pulley but I'm a little scared since my previous car was also SC and I added more boost and everything kinda went KABOOM!!

Within reason, running more fuel or slightly rich is a good thing on these cars. LET guys were running 11s on the AF, others like to sit in the 12s. Running lean is more of a concern though. C3P pulley alone should be no cause for concern.

+1....elgato: you are fine if you run more fuel or slightly rich. and if you dont feel comfortable with it, you could always get the car tuned to make it more to your liking or preference

Sweeet. So in theory, all of our cars computers should or do compensate for the boost and add more fuel right?

yah to a point. i would not run a 185 kit with headers and an intake on 91 octane without a tune! lol

I saw the Code 3 Pulley/Intake vid on youtube. Gosh that thing is loud, sounds like a modded Cobra with the high pitched whine. Does the LET Pulley sound like that?

It's the C3P intake that gives the whine, it's not the pulley.

Really, well that automatically means, those who have the LET 185mm + Code 3 intake is enjoying the best of things. That seems to be you my friend, hows that loud whine treating you?

Yup, did that a few months back per your recommendation. Sounds great and I think it may even help it breath a little better up top. Similar to a cowl induction....

You must enjoy the WTF looks you get from people when romping on it and gradually putting down the throttle. Given your mods, what did you dyno? I see the C32 AMG as a sleeper since it's a C class and doesn't even have a quad exhaust to give away anything. Many will forsake it for a regular C. One thing I don't like is the cloudy headlights but I see some owners put on the clear lens style which is much more updated.

Many who have a C3P SC pulley always seem to recommend the LET tune with it saying it woke the car up more.

That's just the LET tune in general waking the car up. As you know, that tune will wake any car up, regardless of current mods. Difference being a car with the C3P pulley does not "need" a tune to run safely where as a 181/185 pulley does need that tune to run properly/safely.
