yeah i knew as they are local of course
the bit about the home depot rusted out fasteners shocked me. Apparently it was right here on MBWorld where their reputation went downhill!

I believe that they will be selling wheels under the system forged name. A more affordable alternative to the 360 line

Well, it appears that IB gave them the boot. I guess a reputation will catch up with you eventually.

I've personally seen it on the 880/980 area right before the 24 interchange where a car's rim was partially split from the hub on the opposite side of where the car spun and hit the concrete divider. I figured one led to the other as no damage was on that side of the car but the wheel and tire.

On another occasion, my friend's dad was driving his minicooper S on the same interchange when one of his wheels split and developed a huge crack down the edge of the rim after hitting a huge pothole. Luckily he didn't lose control, but it still managed to really destroy the runflat tire and ruin the rim. Anyone from the east bay knows how deep the cracks (not just potholes but cracks through the overpasses that you can see through) are on the freeway there. But of course CalTrans takes no responsibility when you lose a wheel/tire there. It's almost like hitting a curb, but instead you're going 60-70mph. Plus any small hole becomes huge from all the semi's running over it.

thats a pretty big ASSUMPTION that the guys rim was cast without knowing the person personally or reading a full police report on the first story.

I driven over a deep pot hole fast enough to create bubbles on my tires sidewall...mostly because i wasnt paying attention since i was talkin on my cell. The rim was still fine, after i replaced my tires.

As for the second story..there has to be more to it then what your saying, or he didn't tell you the whole story. you need it hit a rim pretty hard to cause a crack across like that and the impact not cause any damage to the control arm. There's something missing from that story. My friend lost a control arm just from hitting a curb at 15mph...from hydroplaning.
