Huh, maybe they sold it already? It was in their used building. It was silver and was going for 39k but im sure they're willing to negotiate as they're the largest volume merc dealer in washington state.

I saw the same phenomenon with brand-new 2006 Pontiac GTOs sitting on dealer lots for sale in late 2008 (different reason - nobody wanted the goats). Would you pay that much for a car with 2- or 3-year old oil in the crankcase? If it sat unmoving for months (years?) wouldn't there be rust on the engine internals no longer coated by oil? Same inside the differential. Varnish in the fuel rails/injectors? How many times has the battery been drained/recharged? I think it would be better to purchase a car that had been 'exercised' every so often than one that just sat for such a long period.

Stone, if it weren't for the CPO, I'd agree with you on that one. I bought a used M Roady and had a few minor but annoying issues to deal with because the car never got driven so none of the bugs were taken care of during the warranty period.

my friend who is a master tech there said the same thing, however they flushed out 100% of its fluids before putting on the lot and it has a 100k mile CPO.

for sitting around for 3 plus year it'll have more problems than one that's run-in.

CPO only covers major components?? How about seat heaters etc etc like our C32s??? If it were such a deal, it would have sold years ago. Basically, its a new used 2006 (almost 4 year old car) with no or low mileage??? Makes me wonder why they sat on it for so long???

What book are you looking at? $25k for an 06 with 51 miles? Lets not get crazy man, I know prices are down but this is absolutely unrealistic.

If I was buying a C55 for $30k and I could get one brand new with a full multiyear factory warranty for $5-$10k more I would definitely consider it. What if the 51 miles were documented and spread out. 1.5 miles every month or something. The car was started and driven, I can guarantee you saying "its in worse condition than one that has been run" is incorrect. Now if it was driven 51 miles and then just sat there on the same tires with the same fluids, been driven on year old gas, etc, then yeah, I may be concerned.

Everyone loves to sh*t on things on messageboards every chance they get.

The starmark warranty is bumper to bumper, but excludes a number of things. Defenitly not as good as the factory warranty.

The C55 is first titled in April of 09, so the four year factory warranty started then, plus it has the starmark on top of that, which extends the warranty to 100k. Car has about 70 miles on it now, people are test driving it. Car actually stayed in the MB factory in Germany with the protective coatings on it for three years. All fluids changed and fully checked before it was sent to the dealer.

Dude, if you're do HOT for it, go BUY it!!! Great car, crappy price and the fact that 08 C63s are in the upper 40s range makes it an even worse deal!! If you like it so much, fly out to WA and get it. I just wont be going there!!!

The E 55s of the same year (more mileage, granted) are going into the high 20s low 30s now. Why pay $40 K for a almost 4 year old car (2010 are almost hitting the lots next month)? Just not my cup of tea. No one saying its a bad car, just not a good price??? Here's a 2006 C55 with 32 K miles for $26,000??? 70 miles does not cost one $15,000???

Yes
Arguing with people on the internet isnt for me, so ill leave you with this - you are stretching reality again with the e55 comment. A well maintained, good condition 2006 E55 is not going for high 20's/low 30's ON AVERAGE (meaning yes maybe you'll spend your time scouring the internet/ebay to find a few shady examples) unless it has tons of miles, is/was in bad shape, or it is bought at auction. Period, end of story.

I wasnt drooling over this car, I was merely pointing out your exxagerations so they arent misinterpreted by someone without better judgement, thats all.

No starmark time extension, just mileage?

This is where you are wrong , once again. No one is slighting the car at all, I was just pointing out that since I DO have a subscription to Manheim Auctions, I see what the C55s and E 55s are going through the chutes at auction and yes, the C55s are in the mid-low 20s (at auction) and the Es are going through in the high 20s and low 30s. The 32s like I own are going in the teens at both wholesale and retail. Fact is, the AMGs and to some extent the M cars are NOT holding up well in this economy. Also, there's nothing wrong with auction cars, where do you think many dealers get their used car inventory??? (Off lease, sold, traded -in etc etc ).

Yes, the starmark would extend the time frame, just don't remember what they added, 24 months or 36 months.

Mute point anyway, car is sold

I haven't seen one go for under 50k. AMG's have pretty crappy resale but not THAT bad.

Sorry to beat a dead horse, BUT have you seen what Cs, Es and C63 are going for at auctions??? Its bad for many AMG cars. The top end ones, the SLs take even a worse beating.
