C32 torque converter/gear adaptation????

I got a question for you guys. My car is taking a long time to downshift and when it downshifts, it feels like the car is choking and will not go fast. When I push the pedal halfway(sometimes all the way without pushing the kickdown button), it feels like it is searching for a gear and will slowly accelerate. When I had a few things fixed on my car 3 months ago (before my extended warranty went out), I told MB about the problem I was having. They told me that a torque converter/gear adaptation would fix the problem. I dont think my tranny fluid needs changing because I had a new transmission installed a year ago and around 12k ago. Do you guys think that the gear adaptation will fix the problem, or should I just change the tranny fluid as well. BTW, they quoted me $130 for the gear adaptation and around $600 for the transmission oil change. All opinions are appreciated. Have any of you guys had this torque converter/gear adaptation done on your car? Was it worth it? Thanks in advance.

Does that include the price of the oil as well or just for the work? Can somebody else besides mb change the tranny oil? Sorry for the questions, I just dont want to get ripped off.

You saying 'slowly accelerate' makes me think it's not your tranny but the IC pump. When my pump went I thought it was the tranny at first.

When I bought my car, it used to go into limp mode and the supercharger used to turn off. That is when I replaced my ic pump with the same Bosch unit that comes stock. It has been around 20k since then. I dont think that the stock unit can die within 20k miles and 2 years of driving. It could be the ic pump, but should I get the johnson cm30? My car is not going into limp mode and the supercharger is not turning off. Is it possible that the pump might be dying and slowing down the car? I also read that if you get the johnson cm30, you also have to upgrade the heat exchanger in order for the higher flowing cm30 pump to not damage the stock intercooler and make it leak. BTW, my engine is in excellent condition as I have addressed all engine problems and replaced all bad parts through MB.

Yeah, I got mine replaced as well when the put a new tranny in my car. I guess I am just going to have to give it a try and if that does not work, I will have to get a new IC pump. I hate driving the car this way. It is so jerky and bumpy and non responsive. The thing I hate the most is having to floor it in order to overtake a car.

doesn't sound like your pump, but I have seen stock pumps go out within 3-4 months.

I would lean more towards the transmission connector plate.

I just noticed today that there is oil leaking from underneath the car. It is coming from the front end of the car. Maybe it is from the transmission. I think that it has been going on for awhile and that might be the problem. I had a new transmission put in around 13k ago through warranty approximately a year and few months ago. I am just wondering if its possible that MB will fix it if its oil leaking from the transmission.

Have you ever had your radiator replaced? Did they check your transmission fluid for coolant contamination when they changed your trans the first time. Somethings going on these transmissions are bullet proof.

Yes, my radiator was replaced at the same time as the transmission and torque converter. They did find glycol contamination and that is why they replaced the transmission. Now it is leaking oil from underneath the car.

Transmission flush - how many quarts?

The "shortcut" will need about 1/2 the fluid amount. Full flush should take twice that amount. So tell me please how many US quarts they charged you for? And, if satisfactory done - where can I take my car? And can one wait for the job tbd.
