Extended Warranty Dilemma etc. etc.
At the moment, I'm trying to decide whether to buy the extended warranty that will commence after my 12 month CPO expires. Apparently, if I don't buy it within 30 days after purchasing my car, the price is 15% higher. The current pricing is about $2995 for an additional 12 months for total of 24 months coverage, or $3995 for additional 24 months or 36 months total coverage.
My issue is that I own 3 cars at the moment and expect to drive the C55 at most 6000 miles a year, if that. So, question is, would it be worthwhile to buy the extended warranty given people's experience with this car? My car has 31,300 miles by the way, was one owner owned, and appears to be in great shape.
Other nube questions:
1. I want to do the resonator delete. What do I use to replace the resonator? Is it a straight pipe, what size pipe, and does it have to be stainless steel? If so, where can I get that?
2. Do I need to install an X-pipe? I read somewhere here that there is no real X-Pipe on the C55.
3. Can someone tell me how to install the sprint booster on the C55? On my W210 E55, I installed it in the engine bay, but I'm not sure if it's the same with the C55.
4. I could also use instructions for installing the K&N filters, although I suspect that info. may be available in the instruction thread here - the sprint booster install was definitely not.
5. Finally, at least for a while, I only intend to replace hood ornament with flat emblem, install K&N, do the resonator delete, and install a sprint booster. Will a Jerry Tune make a big difference with out any additional hardware mods?
Thanks again in advance for any input on these questions. I look forward to learning more about my car from, and sharing my own experiences with, the community.

When I had my resonator removed I asked them just to replace it with a straight through pipe of the same diameter. It doesn't have to be stainless steel (mine isint). If you drive your vehicle in the winter where they salt the roads then I would recommend stainless).
As far as the X-pipe is concerned there is no real place to put it on a stock C55 exhaust system.
Installing the K&N filters its a fairly easy procedure. Here's probably the best write up and pictures describing the procedure for removing the airbox etc I've ever seen:

Although this is not specifically for the C55 it still mostly applies.
As for the LET/Jerry tune -- I don't have one but have heard good things about it. I'm not sure how much their ECU only tune will provide you. Probably no more or less than any other one...

I'm going to apply the money I would have spent on an extended warranty on parts, special tools, and STAR diagnostic time (that yes, I'd have to pay for at the dealer). But for the most part, I'll do everything myself.
Any of the E/S/SL/CL AMG's though....I would consider the extended warranty.
