Is it possible to install C55 steering wheels on a C32?
One of my friend is thinking about doin the swap and he would like to know if this conversion is possible. Will all the buttons work (incld pedal / button shifts)?
Has anyone tried or done this conversion?
Thanks in Adv..

The conversion is possible but not cost effective. Never heard of the button shifting working on a C32 since that would require transmission changes. Tell you friend to give it up.

it's all in the coding of the TCU which is PITA. If you know how all that coding works it's doable. Sunil did it on his 2003 C320 with the shift buttons.

That's what I meant. Sunil did a lot of other changes to that car including D2B to MOST conversion. That and the TCU re-coding is not trivial. Like everyone said, it's PITA. Also, I'm not sure if the C320 TCU is the same as the C32 TCU. It may be.

I have a C32 2002, i have done this project successfully with paddle shifter, but with a clk550 steering wheel, the work is done without touching the TCU, i have a friend who works with car electronics, all he did is that he made a small board that he connect it to the steering wheel and to the shift knob electronic, so when you press the paddle shifter is like you press the shift knob nothing else without touching anything else and is it working very good no problems, it is now on my car from 4 months.

hi, thats absolutley same what i want to do!
It shouldnt make problems!
I say it easy: The shift knob only have 2 switches, witch shift up and down if you press it. The paddles dont do anything else, thats only 2 swichtes, so you can connect both switches

it is not easy, the 2 switches are connect to one so you have to deal with an electronic board that made data 0 volts for + or 4 volt for -, you have to ask a person who knows about data transfer in MB. i will ask the one who did mine in the few days so i can give you more.
