TemjinX2's pulley Saver kit review
Hey guys,
since no one did a review on the pulley saver kit. I decided to write my own.
I just installed my pulley saver kit. I think the intercooler coolant lines on the srt6 run slightly differently then the c32. The pulley near the alternator runs dangerously close too the coolant lines, another c32 owner claimed the belt rubbed on his coolant line.
You can fix it if you raise the coolant lines coming from the intercooler a little but then the coolant line is touching the intake valve cover.
I didn't like the idea of the engine heating the coolant, so i use the alternator pulley from the code3 belt wrap kit and it was the perfect size.
Just a word of caution for the c32 owner out there.
Overall i'm happy with the kit. I'm glad it came with a replacement belt. My oem belt had a bunch of hidden cracks i didn't see until i took it off.

I just overnighted this kit... my LET Idler pulley seized on me last night and left me stranded. Luckily I had the stock idler and bypassed the AC pulley to make it work with the 185.. I was only able to get a few miles cause there wasnt enough tension and I didnt want to risk the belt coming off again. I think everyone with the 185 should get this.. the LET idler pulley is like a ticking time bomb.

yeah the LEt idler pulley looks smaller then stock, so its spinning a faster rate then stock so eventually it would give out. I have a 185 though, my idler pulley seems ok. But i like the idea of larger slower moving pullies. I already burnt through two supercharger idler pulleys in 6months.

Just finished installing the kit. I disconnected the bottom coolant hose from the plastic clamp down low. Then I pulled it under and away from the pulley and back toward the reservoir hose. Zip tied the two and its clear of the pulley. Took it out to test and everything looks good so far - the new wrap makes everything feel crisp. Kudos to Needswings for thinking this up.

couple of newbie questions:
1) I know this is designed for cars with bigger crank pulleys, but is there any reason why it wouldn't work on a stock car? I need to replace a couple of the included pulleys (3 and 9) anyway and this seems like an economical option, especially with the included belt.
2) Having basically no experience with modding or car maintenance, would it be reasonable for me to do this myself?
I'm also thinking about ordering the Code3 sc pulley and intake while they're cheap, but I don't see any reason why that would be a problem.

But to answer your question...yes you can use the pulley kit but you might get more belt slip because the new belt is larger then the oem belt. Also keep in mind the code3 pulley is 9mm smaller then the oem pulley so you'll have even more slack.

there seems to be about a 1/2 mm difference in the shaft it sits on on my car and the interior size of the bearing. ib elieve it is 16.5mm versus 17mm. So it could fit a bit more snug. I'm a little concerned that there may be too much play with it. I"m going to install it anyway. I'm hoping (and thinking) that with it held on tightly with the bracket it will be ok

called Rob. All is well. bracket holds it on just fine. i'm very happy with the setup and did have to ziptie those coolant lines a little bit.
i found it odd that the pulley/bearing that went bad was the LET idler with the high speed bearing. odd....i put it on in March.
i recommend this mod to anyone applicable.

Here is a copy of my post on benzworld...
Went to autozone today, and bought what was needed to relocate the supercharger intercooler tubing. Two 2ft sections of radiator tubing, two small clamps, and two 90 degree PVC adapter's. Worked great, and looks good! I checked the OE tubes today and noticed the zip ties were not doing a good job at keeping the tubes away from the pulley, and belt. Here's some photographs...![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
