rear ended today

So today while getting lunch, my car is parked in the lot, im getting my food and i turn around and see that my car is no longer parked straight, it's diagonal. I see the car that hit me trying to decide whether or not to flee, and i run out and demand them to park. My girlfriend calls the police while i get them to park, and find out they don't even have a license. I wanted to post some pictures and see what what your guys think i should look to get repaired... besides the obvious visible items. I was told by a witness that the rear end of my car lift some 3-4 feet and was launched forward another 4-5 feet, over a curb. Since the car was in park, can there be tranny issues? alignment? anything else that comes to mind??? Thanks, and hopefully this will get all repaired

Wow dude, that had to have been a hell of a hard hit for a CIVIC, that weighs probably 1000 lbs LESS than your car, to completely move your car, while parked, and OVER a concrete stop block.

Hope you get it all sorted out.

What kind of tires do you have?? You sure its installed correctly?
I'm glad you or gf didn't get hurt....and I really hope you take your car to MB dealer and let them check on suspension, engine mount, tranny mount, alignment, wheels and tires.

Did the police make a report? I know that here, and in a lot of other states, if you get in an accident in a parking lot, you are SOL because technically it's private property. That is to say, if the other guy is unlicensed/uninsured then be prepared to foot the bill for everything.

My buddy got rear ended in a parking lot, the guy offered him $500 but my friend was pissed so called the cops. The cops showed up and said there was nothing they could do, so the jerk who hit my friend ended up driving away with no consequences.

Are you serious?? If there's nothing the cops could do, then my fist can do plenty.

^^ i dont know where and what state you live in. Here in Cali, SF, anything happens during a accidents. First thing i ask for, insurance policy #, drivers license#, call their policy holder make a claim.

Sorry to see the damage, i can't believe female drivers driving with out insurance.

Yes this happened to me in my old C230. Got rear ended in a shopping mall parking lot.The guy offered to pay for it but only wanted to pay $50 to repaint my bumper. I balk and I call the cops. Changes his tune when the cop tells him its going to be more than $50, the scene becomes argumentative and sends us both on our way citing its public property. I had to repaint my own bumper

This happened to my mom a few weeks back...police did write up a "report" but in the end it wasn't a citation or ticket or anything, due to the parking lot being private property. My mom is having a helluva time trying to get the other party's insurance to pay for any of it.

Good luck with this, hopefully it will all be sorted out quickly!

Wow, she had to hit you really hard to push you over the barrier. It is a testament though of how well the cars are built if you look at your damage versus hers. I hope you get it all taken care of!

This is crazzee, here in Ca. ANY accident is fair game for Ins coverage... Someone hit my old S-class while I was in mall parking lot, truck pulling into spot in frnt of me (I was @ the trunk end putting new CD into tray) long story short was old retired coot caused $1500 in damage refused to think it would be more than $250 lol.

We exchange info, took pix went our separate ways few days later his Ins was sending estimator to my home, all was paid for & fixed by his Ins.
