i was on just a regular 3 lane road when a mazda speed3 pulled nest to, sounded like he had a straight pipe and maybe headers (it was loud) BUT ANYWAY he was toying with me trying to get me to race so i pulled ahead of him a little and let off, right as i was leting off i heard him downshift and start to take off (going about 50 mph) so i flored it and he didnt even catch me i was wayy to fast lol i am bone stock too
this made my day

nice kill.....yah, while i think the mazda 3 speeds are actually nice, they arent TOO quick.....and they max out soon. turboback exhaust, intake, and tune.....they're maxed out on the turbo. its certainly possible he had the full turboback

Was it the brand new one? I know those are 200lbs heavier with the same power.

Are sure it was a real MS3? My c32 is stock too, and when I raced one from around 60 mph, he was actually faster to around 85 to 95ish. The only way I would pull on it is when I hit 4th gear and over 100mph. The car that I raced sounded very loud and I have no idea if it was stock or not. There was no way I could pull it from around 60-70mph roll. It would always jump me like 1.5-2 cars IMMEDIATELY as soon as we hit it and then I reel it in slowly. The one time I remember pulling on it right away was when we raced from 40mph. I was somewhat dissappointed with the performance of my car. There was only me and my girlfriend in the car, and there was only one guy in the ms3. Since then, I have changed my IC pump to CM30 johnson pump, and have changed my spark plugs. I have some acceleration problems with no CEL's, but I think they are caused by a bad TPS sensor. I have also raced a MS6 from a dig and I beat it after 50 mph. It jumped me to around 35mph, but it was not hard to pass pass that.

i think people underestimate the c32 too much. The c32 is still faster then 90% of the cars on the road today. The mazdaspeed 3 dynos' around 240whp on a dynojet and its pretty heavy for a fwd car at around 3300 lbs.

I dont really have any doubt the OP's story is true.

stock one

They do make some decent power with a cai and downpipe at around 260whp.

The dyno's look interesting. It looks like there losing power as they get closer to redline.

Here's a dyno on a turbo Rsx engine where the power just keeps going up as you get to redline

Stock it's easier to find races.. I came up against a heavily modified n/a v8 mustang thinking here's a race, and pulled without any problems... Only car I've been smoked by out here was a maxed out EVO. It pulled hard...

My MS3 with 19lbs of boost couldnt keep up with a couple evos here in MN-then I blew it up-and bought the evo.
I have no doubt the MS3 from a roll is a strong car for FWD-but the best I could squeez out was 308/324 for a week before the #4 rod sheared off (it was smelly at the time)-
good kill.
