Haunted Car?

Has anybody had the alarm go off by itself numerous times?

It goes off even when I'm driving sometimes. Usually it just goes off the first time sounding the alarm but the next time it just starts flashing lights.

I installed a brand new alarm control unit from the dealer for $300 and it's still doing the same thing.

Any ideas guys? What's the fix?

The siren itself has an internal backup battery. When that goes the alarm will start to act up...

I've been having similar problems ever since I got my car. While under warranty, I had the siren replaced twice. Every time that they replaced it, the alarm would work fine temporarily. Now that I am out of warranty, I bought another siren to see if that will fix the problem.

I've never had the alarm go off while I was driving. Usually what happens to me is that I will arm the alarm and the alarm will go off immediately afterward. Some times the alarm would go off hours later and some times the siren does not even work.

What kills me is that when the alarm goes off, the fogs will stay on flashing and I have had it drain my battery more than once. I usually lock the doors from inside because I'm scare that the alarm will drain my battery.

I still have not installed the new siren that I bought, but I'll let you know how it goes once I do.

No kidding but it is a smooth as butter now, At 6.17 psi I put down 426rwhp without even breathing hard. The handling is ridiculous, much like the little go-karts at the Dromodome or Speedzone tracks. I also got this 5Gal resevoir that recirculates the coolant and keeps the car really cool!

I posted some pics of my 175mm crank pulley and 65mm SC pulley that should really make things interesting in the next month or so. Custom tune and programmable MAF was a major breakthrough!

I had a problem like this after my car got detailed, they wet something they were not suppose to and I told them not to wash my engine, but I think they did anyways. My alarm was going off randomly one of my xenon bulbs blew and my car kept thinking my door was open randomly. After it all dried out it was fine. Also like others have said the techs first thought it was the siren or door contact switch which it wasnt.

Hmmm. The alarm stopped acting up tonight. Maybe after detailing the car, he actually got the engine comparment wet. I'll ask him about it.
