C32 has been sitting, tried to start..
Well the C32 has been sitting for a few months.. tried to start it for the first time today. I turned the key, started cranking ( a little slower than usual) and it started up.. but then it just died right afterward. Tried again and all it does is click. I'm guessin the battery doesn't have enough power to start it. All the lights and all that work just fine. Would the low battery cause the car to just shut off like that?
I do have a battery charger, but after reading of electronics going crazy after disconnecting it, i really don't want to take it out. Can i jump start it? I wouldn't hesitate with any other car, but since its an MB, i don't know if thats against the rules
I know in the manual it shows how to re-sync everything and theres a page on the w203 forums on info on it, just seems like everyone has weird problems afterwards. Any tips?
**EDIT** after reading a bit, i won't be jump starting it lol. I just changed the Waterpump and put on a PSK. Everything is plugged up, unless theres something i'm missing. Only thing i don't like is the fact it ran for a second and just shut off. Hopefully its just low voltage from the battery. The battery was low before i parked it 2 months ago BTW, showing the red screen. It no longer says that anymore, just says "check coolant level".

I'd ask a dealer just in case, but this happened to my father's 550i when the door was left open for too long. Lights worked but engine wouldnt crank. Just needed a jump.

most likely don't have enough juice to turn it over and keep it going. Put a charger on her for a few hours and you should be good to go.

If you called MB roadside assistance to come out and help, they'd jump it. They did a normal old jump start on mine when I was afraid to do it myself (same reasons as you). It's really nothing special.

This may sound dumb, but people say " put a charger on her " as in they just put a battery charger on the battery while its in the car. I've read other stuff and they talk like thats what they did lol. Is that possible? I'm a real newb when it comes to stuff like this, and i don't wanna play around with it.

you can jump start the car fine.
I jump started my car after I was away for 2 months and my comand drained my battery. I used my w204 as the source LOL...
if the car did start and then dies, I think it might be your battery is junked and can't hold the charge anymore.

i'll stick my charger on it.. when i find it. I gotta remember who i let use it last time. Anyways, I'm kinda lookin into a new battery as well. I looked at the battery but can't find a date on it or anything.. i'll assume its the original.

Definitely stick a charger on it. Get it fully charged before you use the car. If you jump it and use your alternator to charge it...shortly afterwards, you will have to replace the alternator. Our alternators are picky about excessive use.
