Dfference between an E55 throttle body and an C32 throttle body?
Does the E55 have a different throttle body than the C32. I'm not 100% sure, but I thought the C32 had a 74mm throttle body and the E55 had the same. Can any one clarify the differences for me?

there the same size but there different throttle bodies. I believe we have the same throttle body the older cl600 and s600 cars. If you put in the old part number it shows up on parts.com. If your throttle body is bad, you can get it rebuilt for around $250.

i dont know. The e55 one looks distinctly different, so i didn't want to take the risk. So i got a s600 for cheap on ebay. It looked exactly the same as the c32 one and it worked fine.

Is the S600 one 80mm, I think that's what I read. I didn't see any s600 throttle bodies on ebay when I was looking. We'll see how this goes, would be nice to have a mod like this for a good deal.

here's the part number A 113 141 01 25. If you put it into parts.com without the A. It'll list all the cars with the same throttle body. The 2001-2002 s600 has a compatible throttle actuator. Honestly, i would just get it rebuilt by bb reman for $250.

you can probably just bore the stock throttle body to 78mm and supercharger back shell that the throttle body attaches too. I know tvt was boring the throttle bodies for the srt6 guys. I'm pretty sure they can do it to 78mm. You might want to PM them.

From the research that I've done, the S600 throttle body is 80mm. I'm thinking that the E55 would work if it will fit. The box on the side would definitely make it more difficult to install.

So im little confused since i am researchign on what i need to buy as for a throttle body, Someone said the 2001-2002 S600, Then someone said the E55 one... What only concerns me and im sure other members as well are the electronics. I know there will need to be some custom fitting like what Fluid Motor Union Did https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c...mg-teaser.html
He stated he used the S600, so the question is what works with the electronics with the C32 meaning its plug in play as far as wiring goes? Altering the plenum is not to hard.

I can't find that page on parts.com, love that site by the way.
I'm going to mod the E55 one and see if it works, if not a lucky E55 member is going to pick up a modified throttle body on the cheap.

I still do not really understand what a large throttle body does.
From what I read it's suppose to increase flow, so more horsepower? This mod only works well with the conjunction of other mods? Throttle response increases as well?

E55 (w211) has a different bolt pattern, it is splayed and not square. You can get 78mm out of the stock C32/C55 TB with boring and a new butterfly, but that is the max as any bigger and you interfere with the manifold opening.
We will have our C55/C32 78mm TB tested in the next week or so (extremely busy summer) and will post results. Pricing will be $250.00 plus $75.00 core charge. We will offer GB pricing.

Definitely interested if there's power to be gained.
So as an aside and somewhat related piece....what do the other AMG's gain from TB mods? Common on the E55 and SL55's I know...that should give us a yardstick to measure by at least.

i'm gonna guess, depending on mods, fuel (if you're already running lean, you may need more fuel) and after tuning, somewhere between 10-15whp

That pretty much sums it up. The more the intake and the exhaust are opened up the better the TB will be. This does not necessarily mean a larger pulley car will benefit more then a smaller pulley car though, more in how it breathes.
