So, not to ruin my long standing line of terrible threads such as "how many headrests do you put up".. I bring to you, the 2010 version.

Your car key... how many keys do you let dangle from it? I have this phobia that I am gonna ruin the key by having six keys on that ring.

Please, real responses, pwns, "stfu idiot"... all posts welcome.

I've got a carabiner that I switch keys in and out of. On average I've got 2 actual keys, 2 plastic tabs (preferred program cards), a car key, an item that goes with the car key (for example the C55 keys have a novelty hand(finger?)cuff, whereas the GX470 keys have a bottle opener).

Don't know how much that helps you. My 07 style key has normal light wear and tear, something that is unavoidable I think?

Im very much a simpleton when it comes to keys. I have the car key, house key and work key. I dont like carrying a bunch of crap in my pockets. My wife however has an evil eye thingamajiggy, a picture of me in a plastic case and every new and old house and car key we have had over the last 5 years. I swear this thing weighs 3 LBS.
Oh Yea, I just spent $200.00 on a new updated key FOB for my car.
Gay thread by the way.........

I have a separate key ring for those keys not worthy of sharing space with my Mercedes key.

I have This quick disconnect thing that I bought from Eddie Bauer forever ago that has my Smart key, wife's Smart key, Gate Fob, house keys for our place in TPA, and my parents houses in the mountains and South FL. and a couple of those discount card things. I never have more than just the key in the switch. I usually put the rest of the keys in the door pocket, only carry around the Smart Key when I am out and about.

I have it in the little case thingy like Chris. Just the smart key. I keep the rest separate.

No key is worthy of sharing space with my 07 key. I even carry it in a separate pocket to prevent scratches and dings. All other, lesser keys are on the ring with the key to my wife's minivan.

house, parent's house, room, building, mailbox, led flashlight.

Wow I think I should lighten the load a little bit after thinking about it... will it actually damage the ignition unit over time from the weight?

Thanks everyone. I guess I stick to carrying the car key separate from the others.

My Merc key is all by its lonesome, nothing at all attached to it, but then mine isn't a daily driver and so the key only comes out every so often.
