Pic request - C55 with lowering springs only

Guys,

Can you post some pictures of your C55s lowered with springs only. Please indicate which rear spring pad thickness you used (if any).

Thanks

Renntech springs with their shocks and struts, but the struts shouldn't change ride height.

Yeah that looks perfect! I've sent several emails to vendors that sell them to ask if the ones they sell for the regular W203 ones will work fine with the C55 and I've received answers from "yes, they are all the same" to "No, they are quite different and won't work" so My guess is that the regular W203 ones will work fine with the C55. I don't believe Renntech sell shocks for the W203 anymore though...

The shocks and struts are actually made by Sachs. I bought my set used and not actually from Renntech. As far as I know all W203s suspension is interchangable (coupe may be different, not sure). I would say call Renntech directly instead of their vendors and find out if there is any difference. I know in the shocks the C55 strut has the 12mm hole for the sway bar end link (which could easily be changed), but I don't know if there is any different valving or anything like that. I wouldn't think the springs would be different but I'm not 100% sure.

I think you are correct. Also, their catalog only lists the following for springs:

C CLASS

All models equipped with coil spring suspensions

SUSPENSION UPGRADES

1. Lowering springs 322030095

I will call however..

The question isn't really if they are interchangeable, but if its actually beneficial to performance to run a cup kit thats been dialed for a different weight. I'd imagine the front end of our cars is significantly heavier than that of a normal w203 due to the engine.

Not really, an 06 C230 only weighs 100 lbs less than a C55 and the C350 weighs 45 lbs less.
