C32 Transmission problem

C32 Transmission problem

have 84K miles and just had a routine transmission fluid change. prior to the change I was not having any shifting problems. since 1 and 2 gears slip intermittently. tends to improve as the transmission warms. was told it may be due to sludge or particles that got into the valves during the flush? Lucas oil makes a transmission fix. has anyone tired this in the past. Is the yellow cap the transmission stem in the picure?

The slip you are talking about is probably what plagues all of our cars. It usually happens around 1500 RPM's when pressing the peddle normally (about 25%) around 1st to 2nd gear. It's due to the torque converter locking up thanks to Mercedes "awesome" learning feature.

It sucks and there isn't a fix for it that I know of other than "readapting" the transmission. I would love nothing more than to fix this problem. It's horrible when someone else is in the car.

Can’t say with certainty what went awry with your recent “routine transmission fluid change,” but it’s likely the fluid level is incorrect (too low).
Because its slippage is reduced when the ATF is at normal operating temperature -when the level naturally rises- I’d first suspect that as being the culprit.

Have on occasion used LubeGard additive to effectively fortify old school Dexron ATF.
However, any 236.14-specification (e.g., Fuchs 4134) fluid will appropriately enable the designed-in 722.6 performance and longevity without need for supplemental potions or elixirs.

I would check the transmission fluid ASAP. Check the type and the level.

heading back to MB. tranmission getting stuck in 3 gear at times. have to restart the car to get it out of 3 gear and start shift again.

Try a stage II eurocharged tune.. Since the new flash the other day I haven't had the 1500rpm "jerk".. fingers crossed it has taken it out some how!

Hate to ask this, BUT did you really need a change/flush?? We hear this all the time about trans oil changes (even if they're done right)??

brought the car back to MB. no problems found. They reset the computer and now it has been a week and I have not had any problems.

I have the same problem and find thru the threads. Easy to do the throttle reset trick and have more throttle, AMG is not a city drive machine, it doesn't know how to handle the low speed

-1, if you put car in "C" for stop light traffic, the car actually does quite well (cept for the 1500 RPM bump).

I dont have C mode, onlyW and S. I forget about it the jerk now, surprised me that the fuel consumption much better now.

Also learn from Maserati QP, light throttle from launch to 1500 rpm coz QP need light throttle to self engage the clutch under 1500 rpm, so let the torque convertor adapt the throttle and let go.

Tired couple days more, light throttle everytime between 1300-1700 rpm, then no matter how hard the throttle is, the torque convertor locks very well to reach red line.
